27 June 2000 : Exams are over and now it's time for rest. I went to Wave Rock last Saturday and my was it tiring. Nevertheless, it was an interesting experience. We got to see Hippo's Yawn, Mulka's Cave and of course Wave Rock itself.

Hippo's Yawn wasn't really interesting. It was just a piece of rock conveniently shaped to look like that of a hippo yawning away. The interesting part is that the rock was shaped by nature. They say yawning is contagious but I didn't yawn. My friend did though. :)

Mulka's cave I must admit was the most interesting and challenging. Mulka was an Aborigine, who was malformed and thus looks larger than any human of his time. He was rejected by his community and later ate babies as his diet. The handprints on the wall of the cave is said to belong to him. The interior of the cave was dark but small. There were some aboriginal paintings on the wall. Also, we managed to climb on top of the cave, which proved to be both a threatening and enriching experience. My legs were wobbling all the time when I was at the top. Can't blame me, the winds were strong and I was quite near the edge, well almost.

Next came Wave Rock, standing 15m high. It really looks like a wave. There is also a dam at the top. We climbed up to the summit which was about 302m high. It was fascinating to take in the whole scenery of the place below. Acres and acres of trees it was. It was quite treacherous too.

If you would like to have a look at the photos, please go to pictures of Wave Rock Hyden under My Photo Album.

I also watched two shows today. One was 'Gladiator' and I must say it was really good. I felt that I have spent my money well. That was in the morning and in the afternoon, I watched 'Keeping The Faith' which was also good but since I watched Gladiator first, I wasn't impressed by the latter. Nevertheless, they are two different genres of film.

It's very misty outside right now. I feel the urge to play with the mist. On the other hand, it's quite cold too.

That's all for now.
