Music, Mind, and Meaning by Marvin Minsky This is kind of long and pretty weighty, but it contains a lot of good stuff for those who are interested in this kind of inquiry. Generative Principles of Musical Thought by Manfred Clynes Minsky refered to this artilce so often, I just had to link to it too. Heavy duty stuff here.
