Another Night
Another night,
He is drunk again.
She is there, anger,
Spewing forth, at him.
Every night is like the one before
Rage, ire, fury,
Is building, like a hurricane,
Coming through to
Destroy, injure, and harm.
They listen through the door
It’s not hard to hear,
Her words, her heat,
Their frustration with
Each other, themselves.
Knowing that there is little left,
Of the family, the home,
They built, created,
Together
Seeing what is remaining,
Fall apart, disintegrate,
Before their eyes,
Their children’s eyes.
Feeling the fear,
And anger, of kids,
Whose dreams of a happy family
Are gone, dead,
Disappeared.
