Loneliness

Eyes puffy
Red from crying
Cheeks wet
from trails of tears

Who is she
I have seen her before
in the mirror
a reflection
of a woman
heartbroken

She hides her pain
only to be shown
to herself
when she is alone
or lonely

It comes often these days
the loneliness
and sadness,
regrets of things
that cannot
or will not
be

Patiently she waits
knowing that one day
love will be hers
and until then
will suffer
in silence
alone.
