A Dream

I close my eyes
Letting my mind wander
Taking the path it always takes lately
To you

Even now I listen
Hearing your voice in my ear
Seeing your smiling eyes
In my mind

A dream takes me
To a place where we are together
Just talking and touching
Just being there

I open my eyes
Life comes rushing back
To assault me with everyday realities
Now not so harsh
Because the dream lingers
