Sensuality (objectivity, materialism)is the opposite of spirituality. Hence, desire directed
primarily towards the objects of sensation tends to carry consciousness
outward and away from inwardness where alone the universal Key is to be
found.
Our senses are what we use to experience life; 'Life' is Spirit, not sense.
Life is comic or pitiful, as soon as the high ends of being fade out of sight, and man becomes near-sighted, and can only attend to what addresses the senses.
The hunger of men for truth is immense; but they are not erect on their feet; the senses are too strong for the soul. We are literally hypnotized......then addicted......then completely blinded, by what addresses our senses; When the ideal world recedes before the senses, we are on a retrograde march. The savage surrenders to his senses; he is subject to paroxysms of joy and fear; he is lewd, and a drunkard.

That there is a larger dimension to human consciousness is not seriously considered by the majority of people to-day. Their only aim, is to treat and accept sense-pleasure as the highest goal in life.
There is the least amount of reality where the senses report the most, and vice-versa.
Our present senses are but the rudiments of what they are destined
to become.
