THE GLOBAL SILENT DEATH CAMPAIGN
Greetings everyone.
This portion of my page is dedicated to a SD:TNM campaign that I want to begin in the upcoming months. The idea for this came from reading the various tidbits and such from the rulebooks and the desire to expand the scope of the game outside of individual gaming groups and in some strange sense a Play By Email sort of game. My main concept for this campaign is for separate gaming groups from around the world to participate in the campaign and to conduct the individual battles by gaming group. By doing this I believe it will add a whole new dimension to the game and also be a source of scenarios for players around the globe.
I'm not sure of the scale of the game, but I'm thinking of designing it with all rules currently available. This would include everything from escorts and destroyers down to convoys and fighter patrol and screens. The complexity of the campaign will vary according to individual groups desire. My role in this campaign will be to coordinate and integrate the movements and battles of the various groups. Also, general status reports and special information will be handled by me. I'm hoping to include a little bit of everything to make the campaign seem as realistic as possible. What is actually happens will be determined by the responses of the various players and groups.
My plan was to have each group divided into two sides so mini-campaigns can be carried out and battles can be fought . The results of the outcome of the battle be returned to me and I will publish a general report of the battle with any stories concerning the game. Eventually I was think of combining these stories together into a net book so everyone would be able to achieve global fame! It's always great when a lone Pit Viper takes out an Epping Gunboat and even better when you can brag about it to everyone. Everyone has a story of some heroic feat so I figured why not publish it!!
