THASSA...The Death of Blood and the Sea!"

Your Journey has lead you to a place of adventure. This is Thassa.....

.....as you make your way down the shores of Thassa, you will see a vast spectrum of sea-life and wild-life. The waters of Thassa are infested with the gaint Thassa Grunt. Preditors that lurk with a ravenous appetite. The Thassa Grunt are much like the sharks that swim in the oceans and seas of Urth. The scent of blood will bring them in...circling their prey to prepare for a feast.

On the bottom of the Thassa, lies a bed of sorp...although, not as abundant as in The Delta of The Vosk, you can find these oyster-like sea creatures, none the less, and these little wonders cultivate precious little pearls that are genuinely breath-taking! They are richer and more lusterous than any Urthen pearl and are truly a priceless gem of Thassa.

As you drift along the deep blue waters, you will begin to spy the abundance of fish in the Thassa. Up by the waters of the Cos, you will see wingfish...their 4 spiney dorsal fins are poisonous, but the liver of the wingfish is considered a delicacy in Turia. You'll hear the screams of the Vosk gulls as they take flight overhead, looking to catch some of the brightly colored fish that fill the Thassa! And along the shoreline, you will see all the tibits scurrying around, pecking thru the sand, sifting for little morsels to feed on. A tibit bears the striking resemblence to the Urthen sandpiper, and for the most part, are one of the few things you WON'T have to worry about while embarking on your journey of Thassa!

There is much history in Thassa. Thassa...the death of blood and the sea...travels to the southernmost shore of Gor...the gleaming Thassa is nestled below the Omninous Ta-Thassa mountains. As you travel north on this great Sea, past Port Kar and into The Delta of the Vosk, you will be amongst the Rence People. Tarl Cabot had ventured that way, from further north, making his way towards Port Kar, when he lost his honour...betrayed his codes...by choosing slavery over death, and was taken as a slave by Telima, Free Woman of the Rence People who lived in the Delta of the Vosk. It was in Port Kar, Jewel of Thassa, that Tarl Cabot had many adventures, earned great riches and fame and even earned the title of Admiral of Port Kar.

As you make your way down Thassa, nearing the docks of the port cities, you may spot a dock eel. They are carnivorous creatures that live in the shallow waters of the docks, although an occassional one will find its way as far up as into the River of Land Ho as these creatures can survive in brackkish waters. You might even see a she-urt as you pass by the busy port cities. Rumor has it, that there are homeless Free Women who are runaways, vagabonds, orphaned or the like, and they are called she-urts of the wharves. They live near canals and port cities and survive by begging, stealing, sleeping with the paga attendants or in any other way they can find to keep their existance. She-urts aren't usually clad in Robes of Concealment, either, but instead wear brief tunics.

The mysteries of the Thassa are endless. And the busy cities of the ports are sure to keep a person constantly learning and finding new adventures. You will be awe-stricken with its uniqueness, and captivated by its allure. It's a cold, hard, ungiving place, though...one that would take pleasure in swallowing you up in its clutches with little or no effort, and show you the Power it posesses!

The Coral Reefs of Land Ho is just up ahead!
