A LITTLE ABOUT PORT KAR, JEWEL of THASSA!

There is much to be said about Port Kar. One must have the cunning characteristics of a fox, a sharp and ever-thinking mind, and the courage and tenacity of Tarl Cabot, himself to thrive in this beautiful city. Port Kar, sometimes referred to as "Tarn of the Sea" is a place of treachery and thievery. Its name is a synonym on Gor meaning cruelty and piracy. Port Kar is the home of every outlaw and pirate on the planet of Gor. It is nestled close by to the Delta of the Vosk and for a very long time, the citizens of Port Kar held no Homestone, as their selfishness and thievery gave them little concern or desire to fight for one.

Before Port Kar got its Homestone, only the wealthiest and strongest of men where in charge there. Fish was the son of one of the wealthiest and richest and if, in fact, they did have a Homestone at that time, Fish would have been the Ubar of Port Kar. For this reason, Fish was wanted dead. He was fished out of the river by Bosk, while he was being chased...hence the name Fish was given to him.

As mentioned earlier, Port Kar had no Homestone. The day Port Kar got its soul and achieved its pride and the dignity to fight for the city they called Port Kar...it was under seige! The Kurri wanted Samos dead and the Cosians were after the land. Bosk sent Fish outside to get a rock. When Fish returned with the stone, Bosk held it up for all the people to see and claimed it as being the Homestone of Port Kar! He rallied the people, bringing them together and giving them Pride and a reason to fight for their city. That was how the battle was won!

Another battle that was won by Port Kar happened on the 25th of Se'Kara. This is the day of the Big Sea Battle. It is a day celebrated in Port Kar as the day that Port Kar crushed the Cosian Fleet. Bosk helped them win that battle, as well. He put tarns in the holds of the ships, and in doing that, it gave them the advantage they needed to prevail that day. As mentioned earlier...it was also a day that Bosk, Tarl Cabot, recollected some of his own honor that was lost in earlier times.

The history and tales of Port Kar run rampant. And they will captivate you and keep you on the edge of your chair for countless hours. To learn more about Port Kar and the adventures it holds, one would suggest reading Raiders of Gor, the 6th book of the Saga of Tarl Cabot.
