WELCOME!! You have just discovered the Coral Reefs of Land Ho...
...We are sure you will have to agree, these coral reefs possess sensational and mesmerising Beauty! The bright, vivid colors of the fish that inhabit Thassa, compliment the breath-taking scenery and color of the reefs in a way that words cannot describe.
The reefs not only add color and beauty to the waters of the Thassa, but they also offer shelter for the creatures that dwell there. Here, there's some respite for the smaller fish of the sea, as they hide in the nooks and crannies of the coral. All sea life takes nourishment from this living coral reef...feeding off the algae that grows on it and from the little tiny organsims of the sea that the coral snares as they drift past the colorful mass. You'll notice there is a certain aire of complacency among the different species that linger and rest around the coral, as perhaps, they too, would rather take in the beauty that surrounds them.
You'll even see an occassional dock eel swimming in and out of the maze of coral. They love slithering around the magnificence, too. And if you were to swim down there, yourself, one is sure you will spot Millie...a dock eel that stays at the coral reefs. She is one of the oldest residents that inhabit our beautiful reefs, taking great comfort in the peace and serenity they have to offer her, in her old age!
It takes great skill and familiarity when approaching the reefs and if you do not come in at just the right angle, you will fall victim to the jutting pieces of hard coral that lie very close to the surface of the water. Captain Corsair can tell many a tale of Sunken Treasures that lie on the bed of Thassa around the Coral Reefs...of Pirates Ships, loaded with jewels and coins and weapons...lured in by the shining beam of the Lighthouse, only to get trapped in the clutches of the reefs...the men falling prey to the preditors that lurk in the waters and the treasures of their ships floating to the bottom of the sea, decorating the reefs with Glitter and Gold!!
We invite you to come visit the Coral Reefs of Land Ho as often as you like. One visit to this beautiful place will give you a different perspective and awesome respect for the Thassa and everything it has to offer!
