M'tog, son of Ilneval, had disappeared while leading brave raid on the Dwarves. The true test of power in the tribe was to hold the Hammer of Ilneval in battle. None could do. Only a blood heir to the throne can do. So it was decided to put the Hammer in a box and drop it into ocean where none could find except true heir to Ilneval's Throne. Until den, tribes would have no King, only Warlords." -So the legend of the Blood Maul went, that is, before it was found. This massive weapon is four and a half feet long. The mallet is carved from a solid piece of blood stone as large as an orc's head. The handle is fashioned from the strongest cherry wood, harvested from a sacred grove of the druids. Is is not shaped as most handles, but has a large bulge two thirds of the way towards the mallet, forming a secondary grip, and finally flares out as it passes through the mallet. The grip has been wrapped with braided hair collected from one of the many elven scalps sacrificed to Grummsh. Dwarf gut cord has been tightly wound around the mallet and handle, securing them in place. At the base of the handle, a broad leaf spear head tip has been fastened pointing down. The spear head is fashioned from obsidian, but is stained blood red from where Ilneval coated it with his own blood. (Rumored to be one of best blunt weapons in Realms-currently being researched.)
WEIGHT = 150 SAVE LEVEL = 60 COST = 1 diamond, 3 emeralds, 1 ruby, 1 sapphire, 2 pearls (about 11 P.C.) This huge sword was originally intended to be the prize weapon of Tribe Akzar'Gorak. However, other weapons in the Realms were quickly found to surpass it's quality. In addition, a separate orkan tribe was known specifically for specializing in combat and weapons traditionally had better quality weapons until they were destroyed. The Greatsword is a six foot long two-handed sword. The blade is forged of tempered steel, and dyed so that it appears to be black. The guard is a large iron bar, and the grip is is wrapped in black leather. The pommel is set with a huge blue sapphire. Unfortunately, it should probably be called the Not-so-great Greatsword. Probably most useful for orks new to the tribe who have yet to save the better quality weapons in the Realms. The Greatsword gives the user 2 hits per round of combat and saves at level 60. |
