PROJECT MANICORE

Manicore, a covert military operation took place in the early 2000's, and is still operative today. They took bioengineered human eggs, and then allowed the fetuses to grow in a surrogate mothers, young female paid recruits. Using recombinant DNA technology, there are genes from many animals included in these children; for example, feline genes were included to lend agility. The goal of the project is to create a breed of superior human killing machine, and that is precisely what they grow up to be. Their mission is to eliminate Manicore or the United States' enemies. The technical term for these children is Chimera, meaning an organism carrying mixed genes. The last known location of the genetics lab was in Gillette, Wyoming. Lydecker is the commanding officer for the Manicore project, with the main duty of keeping the children in place. With the escape of 09, his goal right now is to retrieve all the escapee and their associates.

The chimeras have various "super powers." They have great flexibility and physical strength. Their level of physical fitness is unmatched. Moreover, they do not require sleep. In addition to the genetic enhancements, the training these children received allows them to have great perception of danger, great tactical skills, great instincts, etc.

The genetic enhancements did not come without a cost. The feline genes cause the chimeras to have great sexual desires three times a year. Also, the chimeras experience seizures. Some experience seizures daily (perhaps more for other chimeras, there is no telling at this point). They have to rely on Tryptophane, a neurotransmitter, to control these seizures. While it is not a drug addiction in the strict sense, their lives do depend on Tryptophane being able to control the seizures. They experience great discomfort and pain without it. It is also known that some early prototypes have developed a health problem similar to Werner's Syndrome. It is very possible that there are other imperfections with these chimeras. All chimeras can easily be identified by a bar code on their neck given to them while they were at the genetic lab. This bar code is coded in the genes; there is no way of getting rid of it.

In 2009, about a dozen of such children escaped the military facility where they grew up and trained as advanced infantries. These children all belonged to the group known as X5 in the project. Recently, Eyes Only has a new associate who is one of those escaped genetically enhanced human -- Max. With her help, Eyes Only has been able to have justice rightly served to the "dirt bags" of society.
