Ah HAH! After years of being the only elf at the convention I found another one late at night a few years ago.

hehe.. this one's kind of a long story. The short version is I'm grinning an evil grin as I'm about to turn my friend Stomy into a puddle of jello by nibbling on her thigh. It's a shame the chair was in the way of the camera, but it's one of my favorite pics of me in costume.

I've been involved with an international, non-profit, educational re-creation group by the name of The Society for Creative Anachronisms since about 1979. (Read the Intro section at the official site first. It's a nicely done FAQ!)
The name of my SCA persona is Derek Robertson. Derek is a 14th century germanic/welsh merchant/mercenary.
I'm a heavy weapons fighter with the household of Dun-Tyr, as well as a member of the Performing Artist's Guild. I'm also making my own mead that seems to be popular enough to have earned the right to add the phrase: "Vinter to the Crowns of the Known World" to the label. For those of you trying to sort the phrase out (grin) my mead has been specifically requested by the local crowned queen (twice now) and given as gifts to the kings and queens of all the SCA's kingdoms that attended Gulf Wars (an SCA inter-kindom war).
I've also had fun for years now attending NecronomiCon.

It's one of the largest Sci-Fi/Fantasy conventions in the state of Florida.
The con has been around since 1982. I've been attending it each year since about 1985 or 1986, and always dressed as an Elf. (ala J.R.R. Tolkien) The one year I tried to change my costume I came downstairs the last day of con dressed as a "decker elf" (as in the RPG Shadowrunner) and it lasted about a half hour before people ran me back upstairs to change with comments of "It looks GREAT, but it's, it's, ... not YOU!" (hehe) Most folks that know me from the con have known me as Celebedhel, Silver Elf, Gillith, or just as The Elf.
(except for Maxx of course, who STILL insists on calling me a pointy-eared tree-jumper.. LOL)
Update! (Aug 2003)
Ok, don't faint now, but I did it again.. more updates. (well.. I've updated more than the dates show.. hehe)
I've added several more links as well as pics, descriptions of the pics.. more of a general "house cleaning". I'm still talking to Yahoo trying to get their bloody counter to work though...sigh... I had a collection of pics to add to the Friends page and lost them to a hard drive crash.
Update! (Mar 5, 2001)
A new link has been added. Yup, I got off my duff, brushed the dust off my HTML coding and the scanner. The beginings of my SCA page are in place! Pictures of Felicia are going to take longer to manage though. Seems my Ex-fiance took ALL the pictures of her to make "memory books". I'm supposed to be getting one so when I get em, you'll get em.
