William Gibson

William Gibson is the father of "cyberpunk". I know his work is more science fiction than fantasy but he is here as I love his work. His works are unparalleled in their ingenuity.

I have had frustrating times locating pages that may be of interest on the other authors but never was it worse than for William Gibson. There are pages out there analyzing his work and the such but few people have fan sites for his literature.

When I read Count Zero and Neuromancer, I knew I was reading something different. There were ideas in the books that I had never been exposed to before. The blurring of the lines between reality and the virtual world. A world where man and his technology are melding. A place where the virtual world is full of real threats. A world of the masses living from day to day while corps rule the world.

William Gibson has gone on to write books such as The Difference Engine, Virtual Light and Idoru ( his latest ). There is a complete list at the first site below.

If you want to read an interesting, dark, gritty account of a frightening yet enthralling future. William Gibsons does this. Man, what an imagination !!!!

1.William Gibson - This page lists all his books and has covers. It is some information on the author. Plus, there is a blurb on each book. Thank you !!!

2. William Gibson Home Page - I love this pages layout. It is so unique and artistic. The graphic on it is alluring. Take a look just for the design of the page. Has a commentary on his books, a bio and some invaluable links to other pages.

3. Gibson Stuff - Nothing impressive about this page but the content is the reason to visit the page. There is an extensive bibliography. The chronology of the books is explained through to Virtual Light. It tells of a semi-autobiographical poem that is unreadable and destroyed after the first reading. Just Gibson's style. There are quotes from the books as well. Lots of info here.

4. Burning City - This page is dedicated to Burning Chrome being acted out as a play. The page is really colourful and a has a specific page for Gibson's history, work and awards. There are a few links from this page to a few other pages. Take look at the information on the play.
