Human Rights Centre of Albania in partnership with Global March Against
Child Labour is organising an Advocacy campaign on the issue of
"CHILD LABOUR" commencing 14th March 2000. The main objective
of this campaign is to push the Albanian Government and Parliament to
ratify the Convention 182 of ILO on the Worst Forms of Child Labour. A wide list of
activities has been planned and is under organisation. The list follows: - A press
conference on the problem of child labour in Albania will be held on the
morning of 15 th March 2000 at 11.00 am in the conference room of Tirana
Hotel International. - A Report called
"Child Labour - Albania" has been prepared from CRCA in
partnership with Save the Children in Albania. The report will be very
soon published and distributed. - CRCA has
translated in Albanian language from English the Convention 182 of ILO on
the Worst forms of Child Labour. The Albanian version of the Convention is
published in the Review for the Rights of Children and Youth in Albania a
publication of CRCA in partnership with Save the Children in Albania. - Production and
Broadcasting of a documentary film on Child Labour in Albania. The film is
under preparation and will be shown in one of the Albanian national TV's. - A Banner will also be displayed on the outside of the Opera
building in the centre of the city. The phrases on display will include: "STOP CHILD
LABOUR IN ALBANIA" "RATIFY THE
CONVENTION 182 OF ILO" "THE REAL
LABOUR OF THE CHILD IS GOING TO SCHOOL" - An open letter
will be sent to all representatives of the state bodies such as the
President of the Republic, Head of the Government, Head of the Albanian
Parliament, Parliamentarians, Ministers, international organisations in
Albania, local NGO's, asking them to push further for the ratification of
the Convention 182 of ILO. - Posters and
leaflets will be distributed during 14 - 15 of March. For all of you in
Albania being interested to participate in our activities or to give your
contribution, please do not hesitate to contact with CRCA. CRCA REVIEW NUMBER 5FOR THE RIGHTS OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN ALBANIA- NOW AVAILABLE - The Children's
Human Rights Centre of Albania (CRCA) is pleased to announce the
publication of the latest edition of The Review No. 5 for the rights of
children and youth in Albania. Edition number five is now available to
interested individuals and organisations. Some of you should have received
a copy of the Review, others will receive it very soon. The Review No. 5
is a publication partnership between CRCA and Save the Children in
Albania. Those persons
wishing to receive a copy please contact CRCA with your mailing address by
one of the methods on the bottom of this edition of the Electronic
