The Three Dragons Inn

The sign on this inn shows three wyrms; a red, a green and at the centre a blue dragon. The tap room is small and crowded but the rooms are clean and comfortable as well as being reasonably priced. The food and ale is of a comparable quality.
The inn keeper is a squat, middle aged human by the name of Sanaise but is known to all the regulars as 'porky', partly because of his physique but mostly because of his bad eating habits. He also has an aversion to washing and his body odour usually announces his presence.

Devius' Dairy

This shop sells cheese, milk and other dairy produce. The sign outside indicates that it tends to be open in the morning and evening and closes around midday.
Its large open front is filled with a trestle upon which a variety of cheeses are stacked along with churns of milk and blocks of butter wrapped in leaves.

Dagavere's General Store

This fine building is three stories tall. A chalked sign outside indicates that his ship 'The Silver Dawn' is available for cargo runs to all ports in the Free Isles. Another sign gives the prices of many common items at good prices, up to 20% off in some cases. Dagavere's is well known as a good place to pick up a bargain.

City Storehouse

This low building is owned by the city council and is used to store goods in transit. It appears worn by its heavy daily use.

Multi Family Dwelling

Most people live above their businesses, or in buildings such as this. Several families live crowded together in cramped conditions. If they are lucky a water pump or a well will be close by, otherwise they will have to travel several times each day to gather water.

Safeharbour Shipfitters

Another battered but servicable building. here spare parts for ships being built and repaired in Safeharbour are stored, under the watchful eye of Clern the shipwright.

Scents & Secrets

This small two storey building has, on the ground floor, a shop selling cheap scents. The whole building is In need of repair. A sign, neatly carved on a chunk of slate indicates that a stone mason lives on the first floor and is willing to accept commissions, large or small.

Laguse's Furs

The shop facing Narrow Street is owned by Laguse who deals in furs brought in from the mountains North of Avondale. The fine quality is much in demand by the rich ladies of the city. He is often to be found in The Free Dragons, where he meets his suppliers. A chalked up message on the wall by his door indicates the prices he is prepared to pay adventurers for furs and exotic skins.
Currently he is offering 10gp for snow leopard pelts, 10gp for tiger skins, 5gp for brown bear skins, 200gp for the skin of a white ape and 600gp for the skin of a displacer beast.

Frowning Dwarf's Moon and Milk

Strong smelling wheels of cheese with orange and green moulds are stacked upon a trestle and inside you can see a ruddy faced dwarf stirring a cauldron of milk. Beside the shop a narrow door has a pair of labels in a clear hand attached. 'First floor: Tasin The Moneylender. Reasonable rates. Second Floor Elus, Herbalist and sage.'

Safeharbour Storehouse

Safeharbour Storehouse. Another general storage house, it seems to be very busy with clerks and labourors scampering backwards and forwards.

Canare's Fish Store

Wooden scaffolding covers the front of this large building. The wooden shingles are being given a coat of whitewash and the wooden rooftiles are being checked and replaced. Through the open sides of the building you can see the long wide trestles upon which fish are laid out. Some are sold fresh, others are salted, smoked or pickled before being sold.

Temple Of Calitha

This three storied building used to be a warehouse but when the owner became ill he gave it to the priests of Calitha who have turned it into a temple and hospital for injured sailors.

Fishmarket

Most of the fish landed in Safeharbour comes here to be sold, thougfh Canare owns a few boats which offload their catch straight into his Fish Store.
This large building is open on two sides allowing air to circulate freely. Early in the morning the building is full of fishermen arguing over the price of fish. Baskets of fish are sent to the various shops, inns and merchants in town as well as to Holy Island and Royal Island. Mush is bought by Canare to be salted and then shipped off to other parts of the Free Isles or even to Bormaris and Doralin. Most days a small amount of fish is left for the general public to bid for but by noon the building is almost deserted. The upper floors are rough lodgings for fishermen who have nowhere else to go and small lockup rooms for ships captains to keep charts and personal effects.

Kingstower Gate

This is one of the eleven towers that rise above the city walls. This one guards the approach to Kingsgate itself, the main road heading north along the coast from Safeharbour. Like the other towers Kingstower has its own garrison of troops, currently about a dozen strong. They are led by Sir Rupert O'Tower.

Mechia's Timber Yard

This large building on the seafront used to boast a windmill but this was lost in a violent storm the winter before last and so far Mechia has not been able to afford to replace it. The wind power was used to cut the timber into planks but the dwarven crafted mechanical saw now lies idle. He now employs a number of half-orcs to cut the timber by hand. Most of the timber is brought in by sea but some comes through Kingsgate on long wagons hauled by half a dozen strong horses.

Lirgus' Animal Feed

The building is rather tatty and business does not appear to be good. A weatherbeaten sign offers all kinds of animal feed and provisions for sale and fair prices.
