Hey gang,
I hope you had a great summer, I know I did. Racing has been put on the back burner
for a lot of us due to the lack of a track in town, but Jack and Randy are working on that
in the hopes that we will be getting the Ground Pounders up and running stronger than
ever. When things get closer to track building time, we’ll be sure to let you know so we
can all enjoy building the new track. Be sure to check the website for updates.
Now onto more definite news. It’s that time of year again, when we all get together
for the Care & Share Charity Car Show and RC Race. This years event hosted as always
by the Simi Valley Corvettes will take place on Sunday, December 6th at the Micom Corp.
Parking lot at 4100 E. Los Angeles Av. just east of Tapo Cyn.
Just like last year, we will be running a demonstration race at the Car Show. We will be running all classes that show, this includes your Off-Road gearbox cars and trucks, so
don’t think you can’t race just because you don’t have an On-Road car. We will be
running several classes of On-Road including Touring Car, GTP-Pan Car and even an
Oval Race, along with several gearbox classes like Stock and Novice, Truck and Buggy.
Classes will be setup on the morning of the event, but everyone who shows will have a
class to run in. The entry fee for the event is a new unwrapped toy of $5 or more per car/
per class entered. Remember this is a charity toy drive so be sure to have your toy on race
day. 110v AC power has not yet been determined, but We are working on getting a
motorhome and a portable generator to provide power. So, make sure you have a 12v
setup available just in case, but we are planning on having power available. The carshow
will have raffle prizes, music, food and refreshments, and there are a few small stores and
snadwhich shops in the immediate area. Finally, we will try to get an update out to you
near the middle of November to finalize all the details, but we hope to see you all there for
the fun and prizes.
