Race Information & Rules

• Race starts on January 7, 2006 and ends on December 31, 2006.
• Start Point: Before Birthday Breakfast (GCRC2D) in California
  • All the Travelbugs will released at the same point at the same date and time at a geocaching event.
  • Release point and date held secret until the start of the race. Owners will be notified via email when the race will start.
• Checkpoint:
  • IL/WI State Line TB Transfer Terminal (GCV800) in Illinois - or -
  • O'HARE Travel Bug Resort & Spa (GCQ5QR)
  • All racers must check in at a Illinois checkpoint.
    
• End Point: Save The Garden Cache (GCG234) in Pennsylvania.
• Determination of the winner(s) is solely the responsibility of the "Pennsylvania Geocachers Race Officials."

Rules

• All racers must be moved physically from cache to cache by hand and normal mode of transportation. They may not travel by mail.
• Racers must travel only one state at a time and then only to a state sharing a common border with the last state it was in.

Goal

• The first TB to reach the Finish Line Cache, by stopping and physically logging into caches, in adjoining states, wins! In the case that two bugs reach the end on the same day, the first to be logged in on geocaching.com wins.

Prizes

• Prizes (Fee-based Entries Only)
  • First Prize awarded to First TB to reach the Finish Line Cache, by stopping and physically logging into caches, in adjoining states. The Prize is a Compass Rose Geocoin and a gift certificate to groundpspeak.com
  • Alternate Prizes awarded for total miles achieved and total caches visited.
  The alternate prizes are a 2005 California Geocoin.
  • The real prize is the competition.
