Kerri, Mandy and April went inside the Maryland Academy of Dance for their usual lessons. But today, they weren't in the lessons, they were teaching them. 10 people were to be coming in for 3 hours of modern dance.

"Do you know who's in the class?" Kerri asked, looking over at April as she threw her dance bag down.

"Nope, do you Mandy?" April said, retying her jazz shoelaces.

"No," she said, walking over to the bar and swinging her leg up to the top bar.

Five people quickly entered the room from the side door.

"Is this the modern dance room?" one of the girls asked.

Kerri stood up and looked over at her. "Yes. Are you the people we're supposed to work with?"

"Yeah, we're the backup dancers for BSB," she said, tossing her dance bag to the floor.

Kerri's heart almost stopped. "BSB? As in the Backstreet Boys?"

"Yeah, didn't Nick and Brian tell you?" she said.

The next five people to step into the dance room were none other than the five cuties themselves. Mandy's foot fell from the bar and landed with a loud thud on the floor. April was nearly half way into her split and then finally fell into it, probably ripping half of the muscles in her legs.

"Hello," Nick said happily, taking off his jacket.

"You're…how…when," April stammered.

"The Backstreet Boys, because we wanted to and last night after the concert. Anything else?" Brian joked.

"You all ready to get started?" Fatima said, kicking off her shoes.

"Yeah, uh what are we supposed to do exactly?" Mandy asked.

"Mostly, help Nick. And put something together for their song, It's Gotta Be You," she answered.

For the next 3 hours was the most dancing the girls had done without breaks in a long time. Nick still couldn't dance as well as the others, but Kerri showed him how to fake some of the steps so that they looked real. AJ and Kevin learned the steps the fastest. Brian and Howie just needed to practice more, but they did get it.

"I have to go make a quick phone call real quick. I'll be right back," Kerri said, leaving the room.

She ran down the hall and into the main office. She quickly dialed Shelby and Desiree dorm number and told them to come to the academy as fast as they could, then went back to the dance room.

"Ok I'm back," she said as she entered the room.

Mandy and April were at the bar watching with Fatima to see them and the back-up dancers practice by themselves. Nick was close, but he still couldn't get it right. Kerri gave him credit for trying. A knock on the door made Kerri look away. She walked over to the door and pushed it open. Desiree and Shelby were standing there quietly.

"So why did you make us rush over here?" Desiree said quietly.

"Just come in here and see for yourselves," she said with a smile.

Kerri pulled them through the door and literally shoved them into the dance room. Desiree turned to Kerri to say something, but stopped. She noticed that five guys were in the room. Shelby saw who Desiree was staring at as she looked into the big glass mirror on the wall.

"Oh my God," Desiree said quietly.

AJ just happened to have taken off his shirt as she and Shelby came in. Shelby just kept staring at Howie as they continued to practice the same dance over and over again.

"One more time guys and then that's it for today," Kerri heard Fatima holler over the music.

Kerri noticed some people at the door and she went to open it, but stopped after she noticed that a pack of other dancers were screaming and yelling from the other side of the door, trying to open it.

"Uh, we have a slight problem," she mumbled.

Nick stopped dancing and walked over to the door. Kerri almost fainted as he stood behind her and waved to the girls behind the door. Kerri saw two of the girls collapse on the floor.

"Does this always happen to you guys?" she asked as if she didn't already know.

"Most of the time," he answered with a laugh.

The girls started banging on the door, demanding to come in. Desiree walked over to the door and pushed Kerri aside. Des started making faces and teasing them that she was in there and they weren't.

The song soon ended and Fatima and the other dancers began to pack up their things. To Desiree's disappointment, AJ put his shirt back on. Mandy and April were chatting with Brian and Kevin as Fatima yelled for them to go to the limo.

"Sorry we can't stay longer," Kevin said.

"Its ok, maybe some other time," Mandy answered.

Kevin leaned down and gave her a quick hug. Oh my God!!!!!!! She thought. Kevin walked back to the others.

"Why aren't we leaving?" Howie asked quietly.

"There's about 30 girls holding the door shut," Shelby answered.

"Now what?" Brian said, sounding annoyed and irritated.

"There is a side door right over there you know," April suggested, pointing to a door on the other side of the room.

"I knew that was there the whole time," AJ said, walking over to it.

"Sure you did," Desiree joked.

Once outside, Kerri and the others led them to their waiting limo behind the studio. Fatima and the back-up dancers climbed in first.

"Hey Desiree," AJ said, pulling her from the others. "Give me a call sometime." AJ handed her a small folded piece of paper.

"Ok, I will," she said, turning a beet red.

AJ bent down and kissed her cheek. "See ya later."

With that, he hopped in the limo. Desiree's face went from blood red to pale white.

"Kerri," she said hoarsely.

Kerri turned from Nick. "Yeah?"

"Catch me," she said.

"Why?" Kerri asked with a laugh.

"I think I'm going to pass out," she said.

Kerri rushed over to her and grabbed her hand as she started to fall backwards.

"You okay?" she said, holding Des up by her shoulders.

"Oh I'm great," she said with a smile. "He kissed me."

Kerri's eyes bulged. "Who? AJ?"

Desiree grinned and stood up. "Yeah, right here," she said, pointing to her cheek.

Kerri grinned and walked Des back to everyone else.

"Thanks for helping us with the dance," Brian said, looking over at April.

"It was nothing. Let me know when I can teach you some more steps," she said with a smile.

Mandy elbowed her in the ribs.

"Oh, I mean when we can teach you some more steps," April corrected.

"Okay," Brian said, grinning at April. "Um, what are you doing tomorrow night for dinner?"

"Dinner? I was going to go out with…oh, I mean nothing. I'm free," April answered quickly.

"Will you four hurry-up, we've got a radio show to get to," Fatima yelled from inside the car.

"How about 7?" Brain said, looking back at April.

"Seven's great. I'll see you then," she said happily.

Brian smiled and climbed inside the limo. April went over to Desiree and asked her what happened, since she saw her almost faint. Desiree explained; a smile on her face the whole time while she was talking.

"Would you and Shelby like to come play a game of golf with me and Howie tomorrow?" Kevin asked, looking over at Mandy.

Mandy frowned. "We would, but she and I have a horse show tomorrow and then we planned to go riding in the park."

"That's okay, we can go with you," he replied, looking over at Howie standing next to the jolly green giant.

"You sure you want to?" Shelby said quietly.

"Yeah, we love horses," Kevin said happily.

"Ok then. It's at 1 o'clock at the PG County Equestrian Center," Mandy told them.

"We'll be there," Kevin said, grabbing Howie's hand.

"Boo, I hate horses! They smell and I can't even ride one," Howie said quietly.

"Then you'll have to learn how by tomorrow afternoon," he said as he climbed into the limo.

Howie frowned and stepped inside.

"Nick, get in here!" Fatima hollered.

"I'll be there in a sec," he said angrily, turning to Kerri. "Sorry I can't stay longer."

"Nah, don't worry about it. Maybe some other time," she said, trying to give him a smile.

"I would ask you to go somewhere tomorrow like the guys asked everyone else, but I have to go to a photo shoot," he said sadly.

"I understand," she said, lying to his face. She wished he didn't have to go anywhere, but hey, this was the Nick Carter and he had things to do and places to go.

"Bye," she said quietly.

"See ya," Nick said, climbing in and closing the door behind him.

"Why couldn't we have asked them to stay longer? Howie's such a cutie," Shelby said with a frown.

Kerri shrugged and watched as the limo backed out into the front parking lot. The crowd of dancers that had been blocking the door were now chasing after the limo in their pink tights and leotards.

"Pathetic," Shelby mumbled.

April and Mandy walked back inside the studio.

"I don't know about you guys, but I'm going back to the dorm," April said, grabbing her dance bag.

"Me too. My feet are killing me," Mandy whined.

The five of them quickly left and walked around the main building to the girls dorm. They took the elevator to the 4th floor and got off. Mandy and April went to their room and Desiree and Kerri went to theirs. Shelby was stuck with a complete idiot. Her name was Britney and she was annoying as anything. She followed Shelby around and talked about the lamest things.

Britney was about as smart as a natural blonde and had the grades to prove it. She flirted with every guy that any of Shelby and her friends had crushes on and always managed to steal them away. Britney was a cheerleader all seven years of high school and dated all of the class jocks. She only attended the dance academy because it was the one thing she was actually good at.

"Who were you guys you know, like talking to?" she asked, getting up from her seat at the window.

"No one," Shelby said, looking away from her. You are not getting Howie from me Britney.

Shelby went into the kitchen and grabbed a soda then walked over to the couch and sat down, picking up the latest Seventeen magazine.

"You can like tell me. I won't you know, like tell anyone," she said, sitting beside Shelby.

Shelby scooted over the other way and ignored her.

"Shelby, c'mon. You have to tell me," she pleaded.

"Why?" Shelby said, turning the page.

"Because I need a boyfriend," she said with a frown.

Shelby flicked her eyes up at Britney. "You have one. Does the name John ring a bell?"

"Yeah, but he isn't as cute as that guy who was like walking with like you guys," she whined as she Shelby picked up her soda. "That one with the cowboy hat on was really cute."

Shelby dropped her magazine and spit her mouthful of soda all over Britney.

"Hey!" Britney cried. "Like why'd you do that?"

Shelby wiped her mouth off and began laughing. "You like him?"

"Well like yeah. He's like such a hottie," she said, getting up off the couch.

Britney walked into the bathroom and grabbed a towel. She came back out and wiped off her face and shirt.

"I'll be back in a sec," Shelby said, getting up off the couch.

"Like where are you going?" Britney whined.

"I'll be back," she repeated and walked out the door.

Shelby stormed into Desiree and Kerri's room.

"Hey Shelby," Des said, putting her Millennium CD in her CD player.

"You won't believe what just happened," Shelby said, sitting next to Kerri on the window seat. "Remember when the boys and us were leaving the dance room? Well Britney saw AJ and now she's totally pressed over him!"

Desiree's eyes lit up with anger. "No she did not. He is my man. Besides, she has John."

"Yeah, well now it looks like she's going after AJ and the others too," Shelby answered, glancing over at the magazine Kerri was reading.

"Just as long as she keeps her paws off Nick, I don't care what she does," Kerri said, turning the page.

"If she even looks at AJ, I'll punch her and you guys know I will," Des said angrily.

"Des, calm down. So far she hasn't gone after any of them, so we're okay," Kerri said, putting her magazine down on the floor.

"So Des, you gonna call AJ?" Shelby asked happily.

"I don't know. Should I call him now?" she said, biting her nail.

"I would," Kerri said.

Desiree giggled and picked up the phone. She fumbled through her pockets and dug out the folded piece of paper. Quickly dialing the number, Desiree waited impatiently as the phone rang.

"Is it his cell phone number or what?" Des asked after the 5th ring.

The next voice she heard was her cutie's. "Hello?"

Desiree froze. "Uh, hi. Is this AJ?"

"Yeah, who's this?" he said.

"Desiree, remember?" she said, biting her nail again.

"Oh yeah, how's it going?" he asked her.

"I'm good, you?" she said shakily.

"I'm fine, but uh, we're almost at this radio bit. How about if you meet me at the MCI center tonight? We'll get you and your friends backstage passes and you can check out the concert," he asked. "What'd you say?"

Desiree looked over at Kerri and Shelby. "Yeah sure, we'll be there. But isn't Brian going to meet April for dinner?"

"That's before the concert honey," he said with a laugh. "The concert starts at 9."

"Oh ok. We'll see you then," she said, smiling to herself. "Bye."

"Bye honey," he said, before hanging up the phone.

Desiree turned back to the rest of them.

"Well? What'd he say?" Kerri said impatiently.

"We are going backstage to the concert tonight!" Desiree said happily.
