As the weeks went on during the tour, Nick grew more fond of Stacey. She didn't know at all he was in love with her, only Brian new that. Stacey's birthday was approaching and Nick had gotten her this beautiful broach they saw in this antique store window.

Nick's cell phone rang and he picked it up. "Hello?"
"Yeah, hi Nick, it's aunt flo. I have some bad news."
"What?"
"Your Uncle Ken has just died. Do you think you can make it to the funeral. It's on May 31st?"
Nick thought to himself 'Oh no! That's Stacey's birthday!' "Yeah I think I can make it."
"Looking forward to seeing you dear. Bye, bye"
"Yeah, bye." Nick said depressingly. Not because his uncle died but that he was going to miss the love of his life's birthday. Nick and his uncle never really got along anyways.
Nick walked into the hotel room where the group and dancers were going to have the party.
"Hey Nick, what's with all the bags? The party wasn't gonna be very long!" said Katie laughing.
"I'm going home!" said Nick all flustered.
"Jes, you say one thing and..." Katie said sarcasticly
"Why" asked Abigail
"Oh, my stupid uncle died."
"Wow, poor baby, you're so distrought." Abigail said.
"Where's Stacey?" Nick asked "I wanna give her my present."
"Oh, she and A.J. went out for a birthday lunch, and they're not back yet. The other guys are out on the porch." answered Abigail.
"Okay, can you just give her this for me?"
"Yeah, sure." Nick goes out on the porch and says bye to the guys. A.J. and Stacey come back and everyone has a room service dinner.
"Presents!!!!!" Stacey yells.
"Okay, okay, open mine first." said Brian
"Okay, it's light, it rattles, it's...... Travel Scrabble." says Stacey disappointed "Thank you." and hands it back to Brian.
"Mine next." Howie says
"It feels like a book, maybe it's a book." she unwraps it.
"Oh! Dr. Seus!" yells Jennifer
"There is a little child in this man." said Georgia
"Yes, the doctors say if we remove it, he'll die." said Brian joking. Howie just gave him a dirty look.
"Okay, who's this from?" said Stacey
"Oh, that's from Nick." answered Abigail. Stacey unwraps Nick's present and is speechless at what she sees.
"Oh my god, he remembered. I can't believe he remembered."
"What?" everyone asked
"We were walking past this antique store and I saw this pin in the window and said it was just like the one my grandmother had. Oh, he remembered." answered Stacey a little choked up.
"This must have cost him a fortune." said Jennifer.
"Com'on remember when he fell in "love" with the manager's daughter and bought her that incredibly expensive crystal duck?" said Brian Everyone looked shocked. Brian had just realized what he just said.
Stacey asked "What did you just say?"
"Crystal duck." Brian said trying to cover up
"No, no, the, the love part?"
"No, no, no, no." Brian said rubbing his head.
"That's it, just keep rubbing your head that will make time change." whispered Howie to Brian.
The party went on and Stacey thought about Nick loving her. She didn't know whether to confront him or just wait. A.J. was downstairs getting some drinks while Brian let Nick's secret slip, so he didn't hear. Once everyone went back to their rooms, Stacey and Abigail had a chance to chat. "So, Stacey, do you wanna keep this wrapping paper, it's only a little ripped, so are you gonna go for it with Nick, or should I just throw it out?" Abigail said trying to hide the Nick question.
"I don't know." said Stacey throwing the wrapping paper away.
"You know, I mean, it's Nick, you know. It's Nick."
"It is Nick. That's what would be so great about it." said Abigail.
"You know, I thought about it, and I'm thinkin', oh, I'm thinking it would be really great!"
"Yeah!" Abigail cheered. "His flight comes in tomorrow at 4:45pm at gate 27B."
"I know. I'm gonna meet him there." said Stacey nervously.
