It had been two weeks since Brian had been first put in the hospital. It had seemed, once the news spread around about the accident, Justin and his group layed off. Stephanie knew Brian was her guardian angel. He was truly a gift from God, and he was getting better each day. Something else came from this. Stephanie gained five new friends in the Backstreet Boys. They changed her life. Each day they spent at the hospital together, the closer they got.
"Hey B." Stephanie said sitting beside Brian's hospital bed. Brian reached to hold Stephanie's hand.
"Hi, Pippie." Brian said, smiling at Stephanie. It was weird. Stephanie hated Justin calling her Pippie, but she liked when Brian did. It made her feel special.
"How are you feeling today?" Stephanie asked looking into Brian's blue eyes.
"Better now that you're here."
"Awe how sweet." Stephanie said laughing. Stephanie's gaze softened. "Brian, thank you."
"For what?" He asked. Brian knew why, but he just had to make sure he was right.
"For saving my life.Not letting me kill myself. You brought four special people in my life, and onoe very special person." Stephanie whispered in Brian's ear. Brian was right.
"Who's the one very special person?" Brian asked. Again he knew the answer, but it meant so much more to hear it himself.
"You're that very special person." Stephanie said kissing Brian's cheek. Brian sat there for a moment, unsure of what he was about to do.
"Nick was telling me something the other day." Brian said sighing and laying his head back on the pillow. Stephanie gave him a weird look.
"What?" she asked, not knowing what to expect for an answer.
"He was saying" Brian started, "He says, he likes you." Brian finished. He looked over at Stephanie. She just sat there. "Well?" Brian asked.
"Well what?" Stephanie asked.
"Don't play all innocent. You know what I Mean. Do you or do you now feel the same?" Brian asked. He searched her eyes for an answer.
"I dunno, I guess I like him too." Stephanie said. She thought this was the answer he wanted. Deep down, she was confused. Her and Nick were close, but she felt something different for Brian. Nick was fun to fool around with, as they had done a couple of times, but Brian, Brian was her hero, someone she admired. She couldn't possibly love Brian. Could she?
"Oh," was Brian's only response. He sighed and looked at the hospital ceiling. 'Get over it' he told himself. 'She's nine years younger than you are'. Somehow that didn't matter to Brian. He was falling for, hard. "Have you and Nick done anything?" Brian asked. Then as Stephanie went to answer, Brian cut her off "Actually, you kno what? I don't want to know." Stephanie sat there shocked. Did Brian like her too?
"Brian," Stephanie began. "I've never had a boyfriend before." she stated. Brian just sat there looking at his hands.
"So you're just gonna let Nick be all your firsts?" Brian asked resentfully.
"Oh I dunno! I'm so confused! I mean, sure I like Nick and all, but I get a different feeling, when I'm around you." Brian's head shot up. 'Different feelings? That could mean anything!' Brian thought. Why was she doing this to him? Couldn't she just decide which one she wanted.
"Well, when you do decide if you want Nick or me, give me a call Pip." Brian said looking at Stephanie. She smiled softly and stood up.
"Don't worry Brian, you'll be the first to know." With that Stephanie kissed him on the cheek and left. Brian sighed. He hoped, that call would call soon.
