Stephanie sat in the living room waiting for Nick to pick her up. She still wasn't sure if she wanted to date Brian or Nick. It was hard for her to choose between best friends. As far as Stephanie knew, Nick didn't know about Brian making her decide. Stephanie wasn't sure if she should tell Nick or not. Just then the doorbell broke her thoughts. She jumped up to answer it. Stephanie welcomed Nick, witha hug and a kiss on the cheek. She led him to the living room. They sat down on the couch. Nick started yo kiss Stephanie's neck.

"Nick we need to talk." she told him bluntly.

"Mmmmmm?" he asked. He didn't even bother to look up. "Nick please stop, so we can talk." Stephanie asked him. He stopped and looked up.

"Ok what?" he asked.

"Well, Brian said something to me at the hospital," Stephanie started. She hoped Nick wouldn't get angry. "He told me that he likes me too. He wants me to choose him or you." Nick looked at her expectantly.

"You told him, me right?"

"That's the thing. I haven't given him an answer yet." she told him softly. He looked at her.

"What do you mean you haven't given him an answer yet?" Nick asked sharply. Stephanie just sat there, not knowing what to say. Nick repeated his question for Stephanie.

"Well," she began "I like you Nick, I really do, but my feelings for Brian are all confusing." she told him. Stephanie knew Nick would get mad, but instead he just sat there.

"What do you mean confusing?" he asked Stephanie. He had no clue what to expect for an answer.

"I don't know if I like Brian more than a friend because I really like him," Stephanie sat there thinking about how to put her thoughts to words. "Or because I'm just thankful to him, for stopping me from killing myself."
