Giraffokeryx

or 'It must be a Dragon.'

Ever wonder where those ancient people got the idea for dragons? Maybe they saw a lizard. Or a snake. Or an...Elephant! But no...that wouldn't work. I mean, even a sixth-hand (person 1 tells person 2, who tells person 3, and so on) account of one of those could get the wings, the size (well, maybe the size), the horns, or wings, or the fire. So, where did they come from then, if we have no physical evidence of something like that? Giraffes.

Yes, that's right, giraffes. Or at least, that's what some scientists think. But, maybe I'm wrong...yup! I am. It's ancient giraffes. Giraffokeryx. Other animals too, of course, you still can't get wings from that. And you have to admit, they do look alike.

Images coming soon.

Have you ever heard of a dragon having a gem in it's forehead? That myth may have come from fossils too. When the bones fossilize, the minerals that are turning the bones to stone sometimes form crystals on the fossil as well. So, the skulls of Giraffokeryx, covered with crystals, could be responsible for that myth.
