. . . but its legacy continues. =) For those who can endure it, Dragonball GT continues the adventures of at least three members of the DB crew in anime only. I'm not a big fan of DBGT; while it started out promising, it quickly degenerated into a pathetic rehashing of storylines that had been done before, and better, by Toriyama.
But never fear: although DBGT seems to have wandered astray, many of the fans out there continue to walk the straight and narrow true Dragonball path (cough) . Their approaches to Toriyama's worlds vary widely---some are humorous, some are dark and grim, and some must have found a way to telepathically link themselves to the man himself, 'cause they're good. Some are mine (shamelessplugshamelessplug). ^_- If you'd like to read these alternate tales of Mother Chikyuu (Earth, but specifically in this case, the Earth of Dragonball), continue on.
Oh, almost forgot---this page and its contents, including the fanfics posted here, are done so without the permission of Toriyama Akira, Bird Studios, Toei, Bandai, or any of the other companies that acutally own rights to DB. I have no intention of attempting to profit from these stories. I have no money. If I had money, I could afford a lawyer, who would be able to tell me what kind of legalese I should put in this little disclaimer. Since I don't, all I can do is beg shamefully not to be sued. So I'm begging now--please don't sue me.
Mirai Trunks returned to his future and defeated the Jinzouningen, and after that we never saw or heard from him again. Did he settle down to live a nice, comfortable, dull existence with his mom? I don't think so . . . Here's my take on what may have happened to him afterward. Warning: this one's a long one! =)
Early in the Cell saga, the Z-warriors trained in a special chamber where one year passed for every day in the real world. Vejiita and Mirai Trunks went in as strangers . . . and came out as father and son. Ever wonder what happened in there between them? Here's a possible answer.
Just can't get enough of Vejiita. ;) After the Cell saga, with Gokuu dead and Mirai Trunks gone back to his timeline, it's time for Bulma and Vejiita to renegotiate a few things in their relationship . . . A one-part look at a moment in a very strange relationship.
Yes, Vejiita and Bulma again. =) It's right after the events of DBZ Movie 13, and Vejiita's feeling restless for some reason. He's facing the hardest thing he has ever had to do in his life . . . Another one-part piece.
The original sequel I had in mind after TLW. Unfinished at three chapters, and it's going to stay that way . . . but at least you can get a glimpse of what might have been instead of "Full Circle." =)
Recommended prerequisite: Read TLW first! On an alternate Chikyuu, the Saiyajin conquered the Earth . . . and Kakaroto never became Son Gokuu. The Dragonball gang is very, very different here. And one young woman is the only one who can free her world from slavery . . . The tale of Ko Shiatar, and that "missing" year of she spent away from Trunks. Warning: This one's even longer than TLW!
At last! The one-part epilogue to "Full Circle"---no peeking, for those of you who haven't read it. But just to tempt you . . . three years after FC concludes, one of the characters of FC and a little-appreciated character in Dragonball finally get closure for some loose ends that have been dangling for a long time . . .
The products of a period when I had way too much time on my hands . . . ^o^ Remember the "slightly citrus" Vejiita and Bulma scene in TLW? What about the Trunks and Shiatar scene? Well, the citrus is now full-fledged lemon. Consider yourself warned.
We only saw Future Trunks during a small part of his life. I played around with what might have happened to him after that in "The Last Warrior," but what about before? I've played around with that, too . . . take a look. =) Ongoing, so check back from time to time!
I've often said that I don't "do" humor . . . and if you're wondering why, it's because, usually, I can't. ÊNot very well, anyway. So of course my ol' buddy Katrina Spencer thought it would be great fun to challenge me to write something lighthearted and amusing for a change. ^_^ I finally managed this, based on yet another event that we never got to see in DB, and I'm warning you now---this is much more "lighthearted" than it is "funny." But if you don't think it's a very good example of either, then . . . um . . . blame Katchan. Yeah, that's it. ::runs away quickly:: ^_^ A one-part shorty.
Yep, another challenge from Katchan---this time, a what-if. What if . . . one of the Fused characters of Dragonball were somehow stuck that way? Think of this as an alternate ending to the Buu saga. Another short one-parter; Kleenex alert!
Here are some 'fics by other fans. Some are located on other pages; I've just provided you with links here. =)
Saiyajin: A Dragonball Withdrawal Whim
Highly Recommended! Gokuu flew off into the sunset, and that was the end of Dragonball . . . or was it? An unexpected guest from Vejiita's past has just dropped in on the DB gang . . . and Chikyuu will never be quite the same again. =) Located on Katrina Somers' excellent homepage, which has even more great fanfiction!
Who said I was the most prolific writer in the DB fanfic world?? Katchan was first, and the still-undefeated champeen. Check out all of her stuff through her fanfic page.
Recommended! Somewhere in the ten-year break between the end of the Buu saga and the end of DB, another unexpected guest from Vejiita's past has turned up. What's with you, V-sama? ;) Not quite over itself, but very good, by Arline Lyons.
Recommended--Kleenex alert! A one-part 'fic by Arline Lyons. What if all of the DB warriors had been defeated by Cyborgs #17 and 18? "Could it happen again?" What am I talking about? Read and find out. Currently being posted here, 'til further notice.
Recommended--Explosives hazard! =P A crossover (yes, a crossover! =) ) between the world of Arline's "Not Over" and Katchan's "Saiyajin." Ever wondered what would happen if Japhia met Kimaru? Read with caution. Currently posted at Katrina's page.
What if Bardock had somehow managed to keep Freeza from destroying the planet Vejiita? Noel Mock's answer, located on Eugene Kremenetsky's Capsule Corporation page.
Another look at the time after the end of Dragonball (DBZ), as a mysterious woman comes to Chikyuu searching for the DB gang . . . By Aileen Kim.
Set during the ten-year stretch after the Buu saga, the DB crew meets its match in . . . the DB crew. It's dimension-meets-alternate-dimension to face a threat that spans both worlds, in a fanfic by Laura Critzer. Located on Laura's page, which isn't up yet; coming soon, however.
A continuation of the adventures of Reina, the heroine of "Doorway to Destiny." At Ed's "Saiyajin's Pride" page, where Ed's other fanfics are located!
Yep, another from Aileen Kim; set just before the Jinzouningen Saga, this is a very short look at one of the odd couples of DB . . . from Yamucha's perspective.
Yet another from Aileen; whoa, and I thought I wrote a lot! Set in Future Trunks' alternate timeline, it's a brief look at a terrible moment in that time's history. Big time Kleenex alert.
What? A Burolli story with more dialogue than, "KAKAROTTO!!!!" ^_- Yep, and this time we learn a little more about the Big B's relationship with his father . . . Only a little posted so far, but what's there is worth a look. Written by Matt Pierce, at his "Legendary Super Saiyajin's Battleground" page.
For Future Trunks, sometimes it's the simplest things that are the most important . . . and what's a warrior to do when there's nothing left to fight? Go shopping, of course! =P A quickie by Maria Bonet.
A quiet piece, taking place right after DBZ Movie 9 (The Bojack movie). After years of fighting and the Cell saga, young Gohan receives a herald of happier times to come . . . by Elaine David.
A new Future Trunks story from Aileen Kim! A little bit here for you action-fans, but much more for you romance-lovers; even a teensy bit of citrus. Grab your Kleenex, and check this one out.
Yet another take on what might have happened to Mirai Trunks upon his return to his home timeline, with an interesting romantic twist. Located at "Mags'" homepage.
