'The Devil's Right Hand...'

'...my very first pistol was a cap'n'ball Colt - Shoot as fast as lightnin' but it loads a mite slow,
Loads a mite slow and I soon found out - it can get you into trouble but it can't get you out,
So then I went and bought myself a Colt 45 - called the Peacemaker but I never knew why,
Never knew why, I didn't understand - Cause Mama said the pistol is the Devil's Right Hand...'
- Steve Earle - 'Devil's Right Hand - Copperhead Road'

It seems everywhere that I look in the Vampire Court I see Kindred, Hunters, Mortals and what have you strutting around and carrying what they consider to be heavy handguns. But few seem to know what constitutes a real Hand-cannon these days, or even what is available out there for the edification of your basic quick-draw artist or combat veteran.
If I see one more Glock 17 I think I'm going to bring up lunch. Glock is a fine gun, true - but it hardly deserves a monopoly on the market.
To help add a little spice to the mix - I have compiled here a list of weapons that should earn anyone's respect. By no stretch of the imagination is this a complete list of every cannon, hogleg, sidearm or plinker out there... just the one that combine firepower, handling and features that make them a worthwhile choice to those that might live or die by the quality of the weapon in their hand. This listing does lean towards the heavier firepower available in handgun form - after all, we ARE talking about Kindred here. - SirDare
The damages and ratings listed below are based on actual weapon statistic charts that have been converted to Vampire: The Masquerade rules as written by White Wolf Game Studio.
...however... if Sharp Pointy things are more your style...
...visit my Blades and Archaic Weapons discourse.
...and for combat purists... let's get Physical.

COLT - REVOLVERS‹

Colt has been a mainstay in the field for a good long time... in recent years the innovations of old Sam have been forgotten in favor of flashy and exotic imports and automatics... but you don't keep a loyal following by falling behind. The Python and the Cobra have long been the standard against which other high-calibre handguns were measured... but in the recent atmosphere of real 'big-bore hand-cannons'... Colt again refuses to be left behind... witness the Anaconda - in the .450 special it is truly a real powerhouse... but still handles smoothly.

FREEDOM ARMS - REVOLVERS

Ah... the infamous Casull .454... the bear-hunter's handgun.
hese boys knew what they were doing when they necked-down that Winchester round and fitted it into this big handgun. They make no illusions about the purpose of this giant cannon. The frame is kicked forward off the grip to smooth the handling as much as possible by letting the weight of the weapon drag the nose down against recoil - allowing quick reacquiring of a target. Virtually every piece you'll find comes standard with a hunter's scope - this is not exactly a gunfighter's piece.
But it kicks butt all over as a sniper's weapon...

WESSON FIREARMS - REVOLVERS‹

Whatever happened to 'Smith', you might ask...
Well, frankly... after a look at the offerings of Dan Wesson alone... I say 'Who cares?'
The .445 Supermag is a beautiful thing - handles like a standard .44, but kicks off with 50% more power at any given barrel length.
In like a dime... out like a dinner-plate...

PHELPS ARMS - REVOLVERS‹

I truly don't know what this lad was thinking when he started cutting and sawing at rifle rounds and fitting them into these monster guns...
...but I sure like the result... and I'm sure others will too.
Forget about concealing one of these massive handcannons... but for sheer
'SWEET JESUS!!! What was THAT?!!?'
- they are hard to beat... especially in the 10' barrel variety..."

AMT‹ AUTOMATICS

The Automag series is a fine showing for AMT... and it is a relief for those of us that cannot handle the larger 'wrist-breaker' calibres that they have even offered the Automag II in .22 magnum... a fun and sporty weapon that still counts when needed.

'A really BIG gun that holds LOTS of bullets.'

Anyone that has watched an action movie since the mid-eighties has seen
the Desert Eagle.
The unique flare-bottomed slide is hard to miss... it has become a favorite stand-by of action-movie heroes for over a decade. Even Arnold Schwartzeneggar opted for this weapon for his 'Jack Slater' character in 'Last Action Hero'.

WILDEY‹ AUTOMATICS

The true beauty of these fine weapons is that within each bore listed below, the variations by barrel length you see are NOT variations at all - they are the same weapon.
All Wildeys come standard with easily interchangeable barrels allowing for perfect adaptation to the requirements of the job at hand.
