Magus's Castle, 600 A.D.
Well, the music here will annoy you. It's the same note over and over and over. Anyway, this place is so WEIRD. You see a bunch of kids and some adults to the left, and to the right... well.... if you have Robo in your party, you see.. err.. I forgot. I think it's Lucca. If you have Marle, you see King Guardia. ? If you have Lucca, you see... Taban?? You'll also see Crono's mom and Queen Leene. What's going on here? After checking out both sides, come back. Oo, a save point.. err.. NM. Ozzie came out. *eyeroll* Well, he tells you have to defeat his 100 baddies but I don't think I've had to fight 100 enemies there. Oh well. Beat up the enemies... ya know what you should do? Have Marle in your party. Frog and Marle's double tech Ice Water will defeat all enemies but the sorcerer. It's unlikely Crono can kill the sorcerer (that big blue guy!), but if you use Spincut or get a critical hit, he dies in one hit. Mwa ha ha ha! Well, I say head right first.
Don't talk to Crono's mom, Queen Leene, or the other person and you won't have to fight them! Still, they say some funny quotes.. "Frog! You're allright.. we'll have to do something about that!" Ha ha. Have Robo in your party.Anyway, head north to fight.. err... Flea?. No, really, that's it's name. Flea?. Beat it up. It's easy and steals one persons MP fully. I advise you have Robo in your group here because Triple Raid will completely BLOW UP Flea. ^^ Not Flea?. Flea. And two healers will greatly help. Well, Flea?'s dead! Yay! Then out pops a pretty lady. Oo, yay! Err.. wait.. err.... she introduces herself... AHH!! Drag queen!! It's a BOY! Actually, I think that he's neither, since he says "Male..female..what's the different?" So I think he's just some, like, genderless slime or something. Anyway, he attacks you, soooo..
Boss Battle: Flea
Yeah, you knew there was a REAL boss since I didn't do the headline for a boss battle against Flea?, right? Oh well. Now you know what that really weird bat was! Flea is a tough gi-..boy. However, I noticed.. HE'S.. very weak against Triple Raid, and also, Frog and Robo have great healing magic. Flea not only relies on powerful magical spells, but spells that affect you, such as the chaos dance.. I hate that. And THEN she.. HE makes a heart appear out of nowhere, and Crono attacks Frog and Robo, and all three take damage. Okay. Robo, Crono, and Frog should Triple Raid, or Heal/Heal Beam when weak. X-strike works well, and maybe a little Spire. Icesword and Firesword ruke here, too, if you need Frog to heal. Flea's not easy, and with one person with 0 MP from Flea?, he's obnoxious as heck.
After making Flea flee *cheesy grin*, get Marle back in your party (gotta love Ice Water), and head left. Beat up the skeletons. They're easy. I advise against Slash.. urm.. maybe Frog, Marle, and Crono would be the best group. Oops, I just spoiled the battle.. dang.
Boss Battle: Slash
Slash hits hard, but rarely to more than one person. He's not difficult, really. X-strike or Ice Sword do well. If you're REALLY high level, you can do Arc Impulse, but it's very, VERY unlikely unless you like to level up. Well, not much else to say. Watch out-Slash will either hit one, two, or all three people, depending on Slash's position. After you beat him up once, he comes back, even stronger after grabbing a sword. Beat him up again ^^() He has less HP this time! Grab the sword. If you REALLY like Marle and Frog doing Ice Water, keep her in. If you want a little variety, add Robo. Don't add Lucca-she's not bad, but she needs to stay rested-you'll be using her against Magus.
Enter the "save point" wannabe at the beginning of the castle. Pretty straight forward.. you won't get lost. ;) I like this part. He calls for Slash and Flea, but they don't COME! Hahahahahahaha!! Of course, he runs. Watch out for the axes. Geez, I don't wanna walk you through ALL this... when you enter a room where you fall in a room with four save points, smile evilly. Pick a random one. If you fight enemies, fight them. WOW! They can't hurt you, and you get, like, 430 XP from them!! Go directly across. Like, if you went right and fought the enemies, go left. You'll fight 'em again! If you hit a save point, save, and DON'T go opposite. If you went right and hit a save point, go up and then down. If you teleport back to the holey (ha ha) room, you didn't luck out. Anyway, after falling down approximetly 10 holes, you should be able to fight ozzie. He's SO hard. Just don't attack him. Attack the little gears behind him. Four times. And he'll fall down a hole. He doesn't even DESERVE a "boss battle" headline. Anyway, continue on to fight Magus. Get Lucca in your party.
This part is so cool. Everything's dark. And as you're walking, fire comes up. It is.. so neat. The chanting is obnoxious. Something like zumba zeemba zum... but I remember "Now the chosen time has come". That was cool. Then Magus is standing there. And he turns around. Magus is just too cool.
Too bad he wants to kill you. :(
Boss Battle: Magus
This music RAWKS! Well, anyway, I'll describe Magus first. When Magus casts a spell, he becomes strong against all magics EXCEPT that one. If he casts Ice2, he becomes weak against ice (or water). If he casts Fire2, he's weak against Fire. Dark Bomb is a shadow attack, so he's weak againt Shadow when casting that. Lightning2, lightning. Got it? If he casts a Shadow spell, oh well. Just hit him with whatever. If you use any attack on him, except for the Masamune, he changes the barrier (casting a new spell in the process-hope you're healed enough!). Whenever Frog attacks Magus with the Masamune, Magus will not change his barrier, and, while it does little damage, his Magic Defense will fall. After a while, he won't use a barrier. HIT HIM WITH ALL YA GOT! He'll "risk casting a spell". Just smack him with hard spells. X-Strike, FireSword, anything that does damage. Soon he'll use.. DARK MATTER! Your first experience of 3-d in the game. It looks.. SO cool. And does a ton of damage. But probably won't kill ya. After defeating Magus, a portal opens, and you wake up in..
Ioka Village, 65,000,000 B.C.
Aww, geez, now I gotta start typing 65,000,000 B.C. Anyway... Kino is happy to see you! ^^ I guess you guys have patched it up. ..? OH NO! The hidden village, Laruba, has been attacked! Check it out!
Laruba Village, 65,000,000 B.C.
Well, not much here. Ayla talk chief. Chief send Ayla solve problem. You follow Ayla. Go hunting range. Fight many monster, get items! Items give new stuff. You say "Yay". This is a list of the NEW armor and weapons:
A Feather and a Fang give you the ruby vest, but you don't need any.
A Feather and a Horn give you the rock helm, but you shouldn't need any.
A Feather and a Petal get you a new weapon, Robo's Magma Hand.
Do the math. Fang+Petal+Lucca=Dream Gun.
A Fang and a Horn get the blade with a COOL name, Crono's Aeon Blade.
A Horn and a Petal will get you nothing in this world.. except the Dream Bow, for.. err.. take a guess. Give up? Marle!
Nothing for Frog? Oh well, he has the Masamune. ^^ Save and head north to the Dactyl Nest.
Dactyl Nest, 65,000,000 B.C.
Enemies.. sorta hard. But not impossible. Just make your way through. Grab the Meso Mail, it's really nice armor. You'll meet Ayla, but unfortunetly, there's only 3 Dactyls. Well, since Crono IS the main char, he should stay. Like you have a choice. And Ayla want save village! So... I guess chose... well, I like Robo here. Actually, no, I always use Frog 'cuz he's my fav. char. But I think it would probably be better conserving MP and blowing them away with a mixture of healing and attacking. Fly to the Tyrano Lair.. the world isn't that big, you should find it easily. It's on a cliff, and looks very.. uhh.. weird.
Tyranno Lair, 65,000,000 B.C.
I sorta like the music here, but it gets on my nerves after too long. This place is really confusing. Head right, and save the poor cavemen! Then go down, beat up the Reptites, and SAVE KINO! He'll show you a secret switch in the bonehead's mouth to the left. Wow, ingenious. Anyway, umm, I guess I'd better walk ya through, this place is hard. Here's a hint-if you find a volcano monster, have Lucca or Marle attack it, if either of them are in your party. It'll then use a fire spell on all the enemies! Watch out for the reptites, though, they'll make the volcano use the fire spell on YOU!
Well, go down. When you see monsters, like, against the wall, hit the buttons, and they'll fall. If you need XP, sure, go fight 'em. Head right first, and grab only the ball thingy on the left (a treasure chest?). Don't touch the one on the right or you'll fall back to the start. Then head left, back to the room with the switches to knock the monsters down. In a bit, you'll find an EVIL room. There are, like, random teleports around, completely invisible. I'm afraid even I haven't found the exact way around.. keep guessing. Keep going, and you'll see... OH GEEZ!!! That thing is HUGE! Fortunetly, he's nice. ^^ He says, "If you're looking for Azala he's in the back." That was nice of him! Walk by and save your game.. then Mr. Nice Dino attacks you. DARN!
Boss Battle: Nizbel II
Not much to say. Just use Lightning on him, and then attacks like Volt Bite. He's very easy. After you're done, use a shelter if you need and save. Keep going.. nothing much else to say. Continue.. and.. err... you can't really get too lost. Go through a cool cinema scene, and..
Boss Battle: Azala and Blacktyrano
Well... no point in even bothering to attack Blacktyrano right now, just beat up Azala. Watch out for the rocks and the telekenesis, they can do quite a bit of damage. Volt Bite, as always, works well here. Frog or Robo can heal, or perhaps do a triple tech if you're leveled enough (unlikely, though). Lucca's Napalms and Fires work well, and if you have Protect (again, unlikely) use it. Marle should heal and maybe do some Iceswords while Ayla does Cat Attack. Azala dies quickly. When BlackTyrano "removes defense", hit it as hard as you can! You'll probably be blasted once-just keep yourself fully healed. Once he counts to 0, you get fried (but, like against Magus, probably won't die). After beating him, you talk with Azala, Kino saves you, and Lavos crashes into the Tyrano Lair of all places, and you enter a gate. Wow, I just summerized a 10 minute long cinema scene.
Overworld, 12,000 B.C.
Wow.. it's so cold. Find some shelter, quick! Oo, a skyway. Oh dear.. you're glowing..
Enhasa, 12,000 B.C.
BEAUTIFUL music! This place is perhaps my favorite part of the game. Well, you're in.. the.. clouds? And the grass is green.. does that look like a castle or something? Let's check it out! Hmm.... sleepy peeps here. And isn't that Masa or Mune? That green alien dude.. oh, it's a.. dudette! Doreen! I wonder if they're related..? Ah well. See the books on the tables? There are three scattered in this place. One has water, the next fire, and the last, wind. Later, you'll hear a quote saying, "Water summons wind, wind makes fire dance". That's a Hint! Open up the book with water first, then the book with wind, then the book with fire, and a secret passage opens. You'll fight 6 Nu's (remember the attacks-one hits ALL HP damage except for 1, the other attacks hit 1 damage. If you have 1 HP left, the all HP but 1 damage does 0 damage-mwa ha ha!) You'll probably like Robo or Frog here, but, fortunetly, you can have choose between the two others in your party! Use a lot of attacks that hit all the enemies, or even better.... I'd say have Robo, Ayla, and Crono in your party. Crono and Ayla use Falcon Hit, Robo does NOTHING but Heal Beam (wait until someone takes damage before using it, though). Don't worry about dying-after you're defeating, you magically become fully recovered. ^^ After the Nu's are defeating, you receive a Power Tab and a Magic Tab.. or was it a Magic Tab and Speed tab? Well, you receive two Tabs. :P Then you can go recover! Well, nothing else special here. Doreen mentions Sashami, and I have no clue what that is! So.. leave and head down..
Overworld, 12,000 B.C.
Bah.. more cold. Hurry over to the next skyway!
Kajar, 12,000 B.C.
Ahh..... this place is SO beautiful. You can check out the blackbird.. nothing but a weirdo in an orange cape, mad at you for some reason. You don't gotta battle him.. YET! Anyway, enter Kajar. Remember "water summons wind, wind makes fire dance"? It applies here, too. You'll get a ROCK for it. Yay. You can use it later for a triple tech with Marle, Lucca, and.. well, not to spoil the storyline, so with another character. Anyway, nothing special here.. except for a stupid Nu who IGNORES you! >:( What a meany. Head for the cave, and up to Zeal.
Zeal, 12,000 B.C.
Well, here's nothing special either.. except you get to scratch a Nu! YAY! Explore the rest of the place.. Here, you meet Janus-remember that creepy kid at Enhasa? Now you see his much nicer sister. "The black wind howls"... LOL, he kinda sounds like Magus! Cool. If you meet a girl, saying she is told to burn a plant, tell her to plant it secretly! It's VERY important for later in the game! Hey, now you can scratch Nu's... head back to Kajar.
Kajar, 12,000 B.C.
Remember the mean, ignoring Nu? Scratch him to get a Magic Tab. Wow. Head back to Zeal.
Zeal, 12,000 B.C.
Head straight up. Schala opens a door. But you.. can't? That's weird. I wonder... hey, wait.. what about Marle's pendant? Let's use it! ....nope. Nothing. Wait, I have an idea.. what if.. you have to CHARGE it up? Okay, really, that was cheesy because I never could've arrived at that assumption, were I in the game. Oh well. (KG!)
Head to the left from the main room, and enter the room of the MAMMON MACHINE! You charge up your pendant. Yay. ^^ Head back to the door.. and VOILA! Le porte.. uhh.. ouvris, I think. Ouvrit? Maybe it was ouvre.. French. ;) Anyway, there's a slumber party in this room, and you get to fight GOLEM! This RUKES because if you lose, you get captured! If you win, you get Captured! Might as well win for the XP and stuff. ;)
Boss Battle: Golem
ACK. ATTACK HIM! QUICK! With MAGIC! but NOT LIGHTNING! Here's the deal-Golem has five types-Fire, Water, Lightning, Shadow, and Physical. Physical is powerful, but usually only hits one person. Iron Ore halves your HP-owch. Fire is moderatly powerful, and hits everyone. Water is WEAK! Lightning is my least favorite-it CREAMS. Shadow is pretty powerful too, but withstandable. Now, here's how you change his type-use a spell or attack of that type on it. Simple. If you want him to cream you with Physical, simply attack him. If you want him to cast Ice2 on you, use a Water or Ice spell on him. It's not that difficult. I advise Marle or Frog definetly, because you want him to use Ice spells at least half the time. Icesword works well here-good power, and water based. Robo, Marle, and Crono is the perfect group here. Robo can heal, while Marle and Crono use Icesword. Stay away from using Lightning or Physical spells. After you beat him or lose to him, you, for whatever reason, walk into the trap. Okay, whatever. Schala saves you, and then the Prophet catches you. You get sent back to 65,000,000 B.C., and the gate is blocked.
Crater, 65,000,000 B.C.
Okay, I'll admit, I screwed up here. You're going to think of a door in 2,300 A.D., which leads to the EPOCH. However, if you never went through the sewers, this place'll look very weird to you. Yet somehow, your party member remembers it. Okies. Anyway, head back to 600 A.D.-trust me.
Truce Canyon, 600 A.D.
Go around all the houses, remembering the one in the Magic Cave, and analyzing them but NOT TAKING the contents. Truce Inn, Guardia Castle, Magic Cave, and the Porre house with that elder all hold magic boxes. You can take the one in the magic cave, though. Also, in Guardia Forest, head right, to where in 1000 A.D. you first entered 2300 A.D. You'll get a SPEED TAB! Yay! Head to 1000 A.D., Medina Village.
Medina Village, 1,000 A.D.
Head north of town. To the left is a powerful sword which Crono can equip. To the right is a strong helm which will guard your life. I advise getting the helm, but if you think Crono needs more attack power, by all means, grab the Swallow. Head to Leene Square through the End of Time.
Leene Square, 1000 A.D.
Examin all the chests you analyzed in 600 A.D. You'll get strong armor, which also adds resistance to magical attacks! Also, there is one in Heckran's Cave-a Dash Ring! WHOOPY! This item is great on the slower characters Robo, Lucca, and Marle. If you want, you can head back to 600 A.D. and get the vests, but they're not very strong. Head to Guardia Forest to get to Bangor Dome, 2,300 A.D.
Bangor Dome, 2,300 A.D.
Head through the door and grab the items. Then head west to the Trann Dome and steal their items.. oh, a guy brought over a plant for them! Maybe there is hope for the future.. :) Head to Lab 16.
Lab 16, 2,300 A.D.
These enemies are so EASY! I wish they were this simple the first time through. Oh well. Watch out for the tonic stealing rats.. like you really need the tonics. :P You shouldn't have ANY problem at ALL.
Sewer Access, 2,300 A.D.
Well, make your way through the sewers. The enemies are easy, simply because you should've been there long ago. Anyway, on the long stretch that has items like a can, cheese, and a save point (after the note stating that the monsters attack anything making noise), don't TOUCH anything and you won't be attacked. One area here confused me-when you open up a door on one side, but can't enter it, head all the way up and go BEHIND the wall. It's confusing.. anyway, grab the Rage Band and beat up Sircrawly. Head to the Keeper's Dome.
Keeper's Dome, 2,300 A.D.
If you came here before, you'll notice the old geezer is gone! If you didn't, you'll notice there's a Nu. Go through everything, all the talking, and finally, you get to see.. EPOCH! Examin it, and try to leave. The Nu will cruelly force you to get in. Well, from here, head to 12,000 B.C., so we can avenge Schala!!
Overworld, 12,000 B.C.
Well, here we are. It's still cold.. oo, a village with a mountain hovering above it, looking rather wobbly and about to collapse.. let's check it out!
Last Village of the Earthbound ones, 12,000 B.C.
Actually, it's just the "Last Village", but doesn't "Last Village of the EarthBound ones" just sound so COOL? Nothing special here, just head down into the lair of MONSTERS!
The enemies here deal big damage and have high defense, HP, and attack. I'd say get Crono, Frog, and Lucca out. Lucca may be substituted for Ayla, if ya like. You only have to fight two groups of two of these monsters. Not including.....
Boss Battle: Mud Imp, Red Beast, Blue Beast
Well, whenever you attack the Mud Imp, it heals. So here's an idea. Don't attack the Mud Imp! Now, Square wanted originality here, so here's what they did.. the Red Beast is weak against Water, the Blue beast is weak against Fire. WOW! You know what that means... have Frog heal, while Crono and Lucca use Firesword on the Blue Beast, or heal whenever needed, having Ayla attack the Red Beast while Crono and Frog use Spire or Swordstream on it.. or Ayla and Crono can use Volt Bite while Frog uses Water. Whatever. After one beast dies, attack the other. ^^() Then the Mud Imp will die easily.
Mountain of Woe, 12,000 B.C.
FIGHT THE ROCKS!!!!!!! WHENEVER YOU SEE ROCK MONSTERS, ATTACK! Here's the deal with them... you get 1,000 Experience Points and 100 Tech Points from them!! They cast a mass, unblockable Lock on you, so you can't use items or magic. They have an incredible evade. You'll miss a LOT. However, if you do defeat them, you'll do a backflip in joy! Plus, they can't deal any damage to you! Yipee! Well, make your way through the mountain. I noticed Lightning2 works very, very well here, especially on those.. err.. yellow guys. Fire2 works great on the plants. Now, when you enter an area that sorta looks like a cliff, with a huge iceburg in the center, I advise getting Ayla in your party. Walk up to the iceburg, and.. what, you thought you could just scale the mountain and be gone? No way!
Boss Battle: Giga Gaia
Well, I don't like the hands at all, but they die quickly. Ayla can CHARM a SPEED TAB from the HEAD-this is a very useful thing to know! Ahem. Use Falcon Hit on the hands, this should eliminate them very quickly. If you think you'd rather hit the head, too, then I guess Ayla can attack the head, while Crono uses Lightning2.. or once, I had Luminaire here, you can use that. Lucca can use Fire2, but if you have Lucca, then Ayla should Kiss a lot. Robo can heal. ^^ Frog can heal. ^^ Marle can heal. ^^ Marle should also use HASTE, one of my favorite spells. If they're not healing, Robo and Frog should use spells like Water2 and Laserspin. Giga Gaia does a lot of damage, but without the arms, he's useless. After defeating him, you talk to... MELCHIOR? But he's from 1,000 A.D.... 13,000 years in the future! How is it POSSIBLE? Well.... he thanks you. After going back to the village, the mountain crashes. ^^ Then Dalton kidnaps Schala. And you get a Ruby Knife! You can't equip it, though. I'll save you some time-just go through the skyways and get to Zeal.
Zeal, 12,000 B.C.
Enter the door you entered before, and beat up Dalton. VERY easy. Simply heal when needed (Iron Ore may cause a slight problem) and CREAM HIM.
Well, the Ocean Palace awaits. Perhaps you will learn more about your past here, and your future. The fate of the entire world-and it's future-lay in your hands. If you fail here, everything could be in vain, and you could simply cease to exist. Good luck.
