Its bootlegs all over the place so thats the only thing I can report this month. Best part is that I can also direct you to some scans so that makes it easier for me to explain a new item.
WHATS GOING ON IN JAPAN ?

The market for bootlegs is now in Japan. The latest title "Desert Skies" is hardly available here in Europe (its an Italian bootleg) and can easy be found in the shops in Tokyo. Most of the today releases from Japan are CDR's, but professional ones I must say. The artwork and prints look great, you can clearly see that all of them are realy printed covers and not from a laser printer.
Last time I reported about "The Reasons of heart" 2CDr. This discs finally came in and is a very nice item. Its still a cdr recording but has a professional cover around it. Its a fold open paper cover for 2 cdr's with full colour printed artwork, on T.Rex records TRCD 125/126, concert is LA 29/10/99.

Another CDr is "Unplugged soul Cases" , 5 tracks from MTV unplugged 1991 and 4 tracks from The Timothy White sessions 1991. This is a limeted edition of 50 copies only, again professional front and back cover, also a picture disc CD on Insired Records INS 2003.

"Desert Skies" is an Italian release but not seen on the fairs here in Europe yet. This is again the LA 29/10/99 show on just one disc. Released the Ultimate Sound label US12.

Just released in Germany is this limited edition issue of Fields Of Gold. The CD, which is limited to only 30,000 copies comes in a metal box, each is numbered, and is stamped with the legend "Edition 2000 - strictly limited". The track listing features nothing different from the usual release, uses the same artwork as the original release and appears to have no remixed tracks.
Police track to be remixed and reissued: Camden Town based label, Pagan Records, an ARK21 offshoot have got the official go-ahead to release the remixed club version of "When The World Is Running Down, You Make The Best Of What's Still Around" this summer. As reported on this site over the last few months, the illegal white label has been a massive club hit in the UK, and record company boss Richard Breedon told Billboard magazine "We have been working on clearing this record for some time, and we now have permission from A&M Records, the Police, their management, and Different Gear." The track, a long time favourite of Sting's and an ever present in his set-list over the years, including the current tour, should see the official light of day around June/July. Outlandos members can expect to receive a flyer about the record when they receive their June newsletter.
Clarkson biography updated and reissued in paperback: Wensley Clarkson's 1996 Sting biography (amusingly referred to as being "shite" by Sting at the Royal Albert Hall recently) has been updated with three short chapters and has had the "Secret Life of Gordon Sumner" subtitle dropped in favour of the rather more grand "The Biography". The three new chapters cover the deaths of Versace and Princess Diana and include a selection of sundry news items from the last few years that clearly show the author has access to the internet and has visited a Sting site or two, including this one. Sadly, the author hasn't corrected his basic factual errors from his first edition - Dominic Miller's name is still spelled incorrectly for example, and howlers such as claims that the Police played in Newcastle in January 1985 still exist (The show he is referring to was a solo concert on the Blue Turtles tour, and was actually a year later in January 1986 - we were there and still have the newspapers reports regarding the 'explosion' that caused the cancellation.) Nowhere near as good as Christopher Sandford's "Demolition Man" biog but at =A37.99 it's cheap and probably worth picking up. ISBN 1-85782-319-2, published by Blake Publishing.
