WAYLON JENNINGS CD RELEASE

Not something we were waiting for but "friend" Miles knows how to plug an album:

Waylon Jennings - Closing in on the Fire ARK21 724349446120

Sting on bass on just one track "She's too good for me". If you like country music than do buy this album, otherwise forget it.

REGATTA MONDATTA II

"Friend" Miles is making some money again. Who in this world is waiting for such an album. This time no coppers on the album as guests, thats another reason for not to buy.

Regatta Mondatta II

Tracks are:

1. Don't Stand So Close To Me - Louchie Lou & Michie One
2. So Lonely - Aswad
3. King of Pain - Inner Circle
4. Man In A Suitcase - Big Mountain
5. When The World Is Running Down - The British Link
6. Demolition Man - Rayvon featuring Shaggy
7. Rehumanize Yourself - Freddie McGregor
8. Bring On The Night - Bim Sherman
9. De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da - Third World
10. Canary In A Coalmine - Toots and the Maytals

Sorry for all the folks who love reggae ofcourse, you'll love this !!!

CAPTAIN PLANET

Most of us know probably that Sting uses his voice for a couple of cartoon series of the past years. The Simpsons is most know, but to my surprise (thanks Karen) it seems that there is even an official US home video release of Captain Planet and the Planeteers.

Sting is in the episode "The Conqueror", he is an Eco Villain called "Zarm", well whats in a name !!

You can get this video on Turner Home Video Entertainment most likely on NTSC only.

This is the story written on the box:

The Planeteers turn their back on Gaia and Captain Planet when Zarm, an alien arriving on earth in a meteorite, gives them enourmous powers. Claiming that he wants to fight for peace, Zarm orders the Planeteers to destroy a nuclear missle base. Will the planeteers realize in time that Zarm's true purpose is to start an eart-shattering nuclear war?

Its just like Sting, the part was written for him!!!!

NEW BOOTLEG RELEASES

It wasn't a long hot summer here in Holland, some of you had better wetter or maybe El Nuno was passing by. This is what happend on the bootleg markets.

Two new Russian CD-roms.

* Sting - on Valpro interactive 1997 AIN 708547
This one is really okay, do not expect the same thing as All This Time, but all the songs are on this ofcourse, song tittles and even some video clips.

* Phil Collins / Bryan Adams / Sting - on Menomahnr 8 some pictures , song tittles and music in MPEG3 format, not so well done as the one above.

One new Russian CD.

* Sting - Grand Collection Z 1150 (compilation no live recordings) Saint Agnes and.../Its probably me/Sister Moon/Englishman in NY/If you love somebody/Mad about you/Fields of gold/love is the 7th wave/Russians/ Well be together/Let you soul be your pilot/La belle dame sans regrets/when we dance/moon over bourbon street/all for love/fragile.

Two new Japanese CD's.

* The Police - Lost BBC studio tapes 78-79 - Masquerad MQ007
next to you/roxanne/truth hits everybody/so lonely/interview/message in a bottle/beds too big without you/cant stand losing you/so lonely/fall out/beds too big../message in a bottle/roxanne/walking on the moon/deadwish/bring on the night/no time this time.
tracks 1-4 John peel session 1978
tracks 5-7 Capital radio session 1979
tracks 8-13 BBC in concert 1979
tracks 14-16 Melbourne 1981
track 17 is unknown source

Artwork and photo's are nice done, quality of the recordings is better than most of our own tapes, lots of noise.

* Sting - Accoustic Radio Session in Chicago STMF 0001
This is the first CDR bootleg from Japan. There are more CDR's I know, but these Japanes CDR's are well made. Mostly only 100 copies with full colour coverwork and a stickered label in full colour.
Tracks are well known of course!

Thanks goes to my contacts in Russia and Japan for keeping me informed. Its seems that the European market is totally dead for Sting and The Police boots, there hasn't been a release for months.

STING AND ASWAD

FREAK QUESTION

One final (unrelated) point, does anyone find it strange that given Live Aid was the biggest most watched music event in the world, that the songs performed by Sting that day have not appeared on a bootleg anywhere? Or have they?

Cheers
Dave & Wendy

Erwin Kempen: Actually there is ! Its a 10-LP plus one 7"single bootleg box from Italy. One side is Sting, rest covers all the other bands. Quality is bad, box doens't look that good aswell. I forgot which tracks were bootted.
