![]() This is a list of some of the books available that give a little more indepth discussion on the reasoning behind feeding a raw diet.
To find out more about this book and for ordering information follow this link The book that "put a lot of us over the edge" was "Give Your Dog A Bone" by Dr. Ian Billinghurst. His second book "Grow Your Pups With Bones" is just out and is good but does not detail the diet - he refers to the first book many times for that. A true pioneer in the field is "The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat" by Juliette de Bairacli Levy. Another pioneer in the field is "Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats" by Dr. Richard M. Pitcairn. A popular book is "Reigning Cats and Dogs" by Pat McKay. A book with a raw diet plus tons of info on vitamins, etc. is "The Holistic Guide for a Healthy Dog" by Wendy Volhard and Kerry Brown, DVM. "It's For the Animals! - Natural Care & Resources" by Helen McKinnon. And just published this year and highly successful is "The Ultimate Diet" by Kymythy Schultze, A.H.I. Two other books that are good reading but don't have "diets" per se are "Keep Your Pet Healthy The Natural Way" by Pat Lazarus and "Food Pets Die For" by Ann N. Martin (this one is reason enough to never purchase another bag of dog food!) For places on the internet to access these books, check out the Links page. [Top] |
