Arctic Fox
Alopex lagopus
The Arctic Fox is easily recognised by its fluffly white winter coat though in the summer it looses this insulation and takes on a grey or brown appearance. This fox lives in the high arctic regions where it can fall to -90° F. The arctic fox is rather shaped like a ball having shorter legs and small ears that help it to retain heat. This fox can be found in Northern Canada, Siberia, Greenland, and Europe. The arctic will use the same burrow for generations as shelter in the arctic is scarce.
This denotes one of my favorite images.
