Basic casserole

This recipe is the base for me when I make a lot of my different casseroles. I've made hundreds of casseroles, but I won't list them here, as they mostly have the same base. To make a casserole is very easy, and it can be changed just as you like, to fit your taste and needs.

  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 red paprika
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can of beans
  • salt
  • black or white pepper
1. Chop the onion and crush the garlic. Heat the oil in a large pan, and put in the onion and garlic.
2. Chop the paprika and add when the onion becomes transparent.
3. Add the crushed tomatoes and beans. Add salt and pepper.
4. Let it cook for a while until it seems "done".

Remember that this is only a base, and you're supposed to add other ingredients and spices. I don't think I've ever made the base only, I've always had lots of other things in it. You can take a look at one of my experiments here.
