    More than with the mice, I get really attached to my ratties.  I don't generally have very many baby rats per year; usually 1-3 litters; so I'm not exactly a huge breeder by any means!  That means a couple things; first off, the babies get very spoiled!  Handled a LOT.  And it means I can be picky when I have to give them up!  Usually I'm happy just to find homes for them, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't refuse to give someone a rat if they don't seem like the best place for the rat!
    So, basically, what I'm saying is, these guys mean a lot to me!

    Julia's Litter:
   Julia is a friend of mine, and she had a litter born just a few days before Toni's.  The father is Jake, a PEW, the mother is Lee, an agouti Berkshire.  I ended up with some of the babies that she couldn't find homes for.  They're a lot smaller than my guys, and havn't had as much handling, but they're pretty sweet nonetheless.  Here they are:
 
 

"Sunface"	Male	PEW	This guy's going to be hard to find a home for, being male, PEW, and rather small.
"Bronze"	Female	PEW	She's not going to be too easy, herself.  I thought Julia was going to keep her, but I guess not.
"Livingston"	Male	Agouti Berkshire	I thought she was going to keep him, too, but if he's over at my house I suppose not!  He's a beatiful little rat; very very dark in color.  Bad for show, but pretty!
"Ophelia"	Female	Black Berkshire	She's a pretty little thing, and very curious.  Like Livingston, she's only a "Berkshire" by the barest amount, with only a small white area on the belly.

 

    Upcoming Litters:
    None at this time; may not be for a while?  The only rat that I'm sure I'm going to breed in the future is Genevieve, one of Toni's babies; obviously she won't be mature for a while, plus I have to find her the perfect mate first!
