The first annuel meeting of the Association of the Fournier in America took place in Quebec City, on August 29th 1998. Members and non-members, descendants of many Fournier ancestors, are came to this meeting. The members had elected their first official board of directors.

The Association of the Fournier in America will organize the first large renewed Encounters of the Fournier families in America, in August 1999, in the Montmagny Region, the birthplace of three lines of our ancestors. At the occasion of this first great family feast, we shall commemorate the third centenary of the Guillaume Fournier's death, pionneer-founder of Montmagny, who died on October 24th 1699.

Our benevolent genealogist hope to publish in 1999, at the occasion of these first large renewed encounters of the Fournier families, a Genealogical Dictionary of all the descendants of Guillaume and Françoise Hébert, and Repertory of the marriages in all the Fournier lines.
