Tired Eyes

Lift your tired eyes to the heavens,
And smile at the wonders encompassed in a single glance -
An indescribable landscape of silent beauty
Underscored by the soft murmur of a gently beating heart.

Or you can gaze on Nature's winter-garden:
A peaceful panorama of pure-white dreams,
And crystal-leaved trees frozen in a fleeting spot of time
Which become, with the passage of years, a cherished Forever Moment.

Or even, better yet, watch the lazy setting sun
Slip patiently beyond the distant horizon,
It's fading gift : a multi-hued burst of colours
That can never be faithfully captured except in memories.

But nothing can compare to the image
Which dances elegantly before me when I close my weary eyes:
A truly Romantic "Phantom of Delight"
Beyond the writings of a mere mortal man.
