MOVIE OF THE WEEK

Sure it's a cool song by ROB ZOMBIE, but its also a film by JEAN ROLLIN, one of his best if you ask this Video Monkey.

Sure it doesn't have any beach scene, but the quality and acting are far superior than some of his previous films. The story kinda starts off a bit far-fetchy with toxic waste dumped in a tomb re-animating a dead girl and giving her vampiric needs. But it picks up quickly. She makes short work of the toxic waste dumpers and then proceeds on to her childhood home, apparently somewhat devoid of memory. She kills a couple more people before hooking up with her longtime childhood friend (seems like they might have been a little more than just 'friends'). Some memories start to come back and her friend helps her acquire fresh victims. As more and more memory dawns on her, she is repulsed by what she has become and then some American tourist woman poking around discovers her secret leading up to the big climax...

The movie is excellently gory released in 1982 and filmed in both English and French (with English subtitles). It is colour and about 86 minutes long. I picked my copy up from GOREHOUND VIDEO but you can find it just about everywhere. It is even availible now at AMAZON on DVD:

It might even be for rent in your local video store (if your video store is supercool that is). If you are a ROLLIN fan, this is a must see. If you are not its an excellent introduction into the work of this film-making genius...
