WOO-HOO!!!!!
It took me a long time to find and a long time to get but I finally found the long sought after Jess Franco movie, THE KILLER BARBYS.
I got this little gem from the good folks at EUROTRASH CINEMA and I just love it.
It all started a few months back when I saw a trailer for it stuck on the end of a flick I traded for. I loved the song and the scenes and stuff shown looked really cool. I HAD to find it. So I searched trade lists and posted to every place I could think of for a trade and searched a few sites and finally I found it.
The movie itself is pretty basic; the old car breaks down near the castle inhabited by some evil thing story. In this case its a Countess who needs to drink blood to restore her youth and her evil henchmen (including a couple midgets, and midgets are just the coolest). The twist is the car breaking down belongs to the hoopiest Euro-punk band "The Killer Barbys".
The soundtrack is outstanding, the movie is super campy with all the gore and sexploitation required. The only let down was that the movie is in part English, part Spanish and part Italian (i think) but not subtitled in English. But there is enough English to follow the story.
