Son of a freezing computer bitch!!!! Let's try this for a third time!
Some movies are just inherently cool! There is no denying it. Maybe production values are low and the acting is a bit sub standard and the plot just doesn't seem to flow as well as your Hollywood programmed mind can accept, but after you watch it, you say to yourself, "Man that was fucking cool!"

And the very coolest of these cool movies is the ones that you just can't put your finger on what was so cool. This time our Movie of the Week is one of those:





So what's so cool about this one?

Well as I said, it's hard to put your finger on. For one thing, the soundtrack is awesome. Rockabilly, garage rock tunes with not a rap song in the bunch, how cool is that? There is even a song by Toyko Punk legends GUITAR WOLF (who also play the MIB in the movie).

You just know when Asians are involved, it has to be cool!!! And I tell you true, the next $10 certificate I get from Amazon will be spent on this SOUNDTRACK.

Then there is the off kilter stranger than hell plot. Of course, as this quote from the Memphis Flyer sez:

"It's less about plot than about style --a certain campy style inspired by garage rock, underground comic books, and exploitation movies of the '50s and '60s." so that is only secondary.

Still, the story is about this immortal alien named Blackie,

who returns to Earth 42 years after screwing up his mission in 1950's to kill 12 random people. He hooks up with his old friend Mike, a committed homicidal comic book junkie, who has been kept young by a blood transfusion with Blackie and Kerine, a fresh out of prison uncontrolable homicidal bitch.

He needs just three more victims , but Kerine ends up killing an extra victim which puts him in shit with The Elder of the Lo-Fi Frequency. He is given a second chance though, if he can kill a victim of the Elders choosing to take back his 13th kill, he can return home. Unfortunately the victim that is chosen is his partner Mike's girlfriend. And that is only half of the complications.

Now I came accross this awesome flick on a DVD called HOTTER THAN HELL which had three other somewhat lamo erotic horror type flicks and if you buy this flick, I recommend you do the same. Not only do you get the 3 other flicks for a price under $10, but the original DVD release I've heard had a defect where the movie stops at about 1 hour 4mins, still it goes for a bundle.

But thankfully there has been a re-release which is considerably cheaper:
