So there I was on a Friday Night at my local ROGERS VIDEO with my Free 7 Day Rental Coupon from their website. And the girlfriend and I both have the night off and are in the mood to watch something new. And I scope through all the 7 Day Rentals and realize, "My God, I've seen them all!!"
So over to the new releases I go, knowing I'm gonna have to buy the bullet and finally see 'JEEPERS CREEPERS'. Now I've been reading mixed reviews about this movie, some sez it sucks bad, some sez it's very cool. Unfortunately it was the 14-18 year old set that found it to be cool. I mean jeeze-lousie, I've never been so happy to see someone get killed in a horror movie. That brother and sister were the dumbest two characters ever, I mean we were screaming at the TV set, I came so close to turning it off and I swear I would have gone skeet-shooting with that DVD if they both had lived. But here I go rambling again, this stuff is best saved for WORST OF THE WORST.
So anyway, at ROGERS if you get two new releases, you get a free can of pringles. So there I was, up against the wall (the new-release wall) looking at tons of crap. So I start the walk at the 'A's, and there it was in the 'C's. I couldn't believe it. Admist the 100's of the same copies of the Mega-conglomorate Hollywood videos, lay one lone copy of the much awaited movie (at least its been one I was waiting for):

Where to begin with this flick?!?!?! I mean it ROCKS!!!! It is so freakin' cool!!!!
It's got guns, and nuns, and demons and satanism and college co-eds and drugs and a goth chick and a nerd and a little dog and excellent gore and scares and thrills and chills and campy fun and it even has Adrienne Barbeau (Escape from New York, The Fog) still looking hot and kicking ass.
The story, well keep it simple, college kids go to a haunted convent to do college kid stuff and get possessed by demons. The gore is off-the-wall and the demons are excellently scary. There is enough campy humor and action to keep anyone happy. And sure this movie is mostly just a bunch of eye-candy, but it's eye-candy that works and it doesn't pretend to be anything else. And at least the characters in this one act in motivated manners (unlike other flicks previously mentioned). I mean they go back to the haunted place because they left their drugs there, their old best friend is left behind and the possibility of getting laid is there. Not because you think someone may or may not have dumped an anonymous body down a pipe on your long journey home for the holidays, someone who just tried to run you off the road, USE YOUR FREAKIN' HEAD!!! Sorry, that Jeepers Creeper still pisses me off!

Anyway, this flick is very cool and I can't see anyone not liking it, it's just plain fun. It even has some moral lessons to be learned like, 'Don't take shrooms in a haunted house' and 'it doesn't pay to be a virgin when satanists are around'.

What more can I tell you?
