The Indian Maiden sits upon the mountain top,
watching the eagle soar.
Closing her eyes,
she sees through the eyes of this majestic bird.Feeling the wind soar beneath her wings;
she smells the sweet freshness of the air,
and sees with stunning detail the rabbit,
(soon to become a life giving meal)
scurry into a bush.A blaring sound comes from her throat,
and that of the eagle;
simultaneously,
as the merging begins.
She finds herself lost, inside the spirits being;
spirits shared.The eagle rests upon a tree top pruning her feathers.
Peace and serenity envelope the two.The wind dies down.
The maiden returns to her own self.
Renewed;
Full of life, ready to begin a new day.
And silently thanks the eagle.
