To Ladysnow's Tribute to Native Americans

Thank you Moon Bear for Giving Me Understanding

My wonderful brother "Moon Bear," helped me to have a better understanding of what it means to be Indian. He, along with Paul, have raised my horizons to see the sky, lowered my ego to see the earth, and helped me to appreciate nature and Mother Earth and all she has to offer. This page is dedicated to them and to my Maternal Grandmother, who was the original full-blooded Cherokee in the family; without whom I would not be so blessed. I get my Indian Heritage from her and from my Mother who is Half Cherokee. But time, reading, and talks with Moon Bear; have helped me to see that we are all a part of the Earth, and therfore all related. This page contains a gift for you all in my Picture Gallery, my Brothers and Sisters in the Earth.

Love and Light

PICTURE GALLERY

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I have a host of pictures for you to enjoy. See the colorful Indian garb, from various tribes. Enjoy the diversity and beauty of each picture as it comes up. I sure did.

I truly hope you enjoyed the show. Before you go, please read the poem I wrote located on the next page as well as the links I've located and see the wonders others have created for you. I hope it does justice to the things that Moon Bear has tried to teach me. There are also another wonderful set of native American pictures for your enjoyment!

Dream Catcher's

Native American Indians, believed that both good and bad dreams came from the night sky. The bad dreams found themslves captured in a web, held until the morning sun and evaporated them. The good dreams, slipped through the web to the dreamer.

Mandala

What is the Mandala? And where did it come from? The true definition is: *man-da-la n. Any of various ritualistic geometric designs used in Hinduism and Buddhism as an aid to meditation. (Skt. mandalam, circle.)* from the American Heritage Dictionary, Third Edition. In Africa a Mandala was used as a shield for protection. The Mandala has been used in many cultures for many centuries. It’s often that you find Mandala’s displayed along with the Dream Catcher’s and other Indian objects, both for decoration and actual use in religious ceremonies. This history of the Mandala only confirms the “unity” of man on Earth as being of “one people.” All children of Mother Earth.

Thank you AngelHeart for the beautiful graphics! :)
