Aeres was once the ruler of Gaultheria. He ruled the people through fear and hatred until Rolan, the Light Mage, expelled him from the land. Vowing revenge, he left Gaultheria for two decades. During that time, he used his magical powers to drain the life force from various creatures in order to grant himself eternal youth so that he could raise an army of undead soldiers to carry out his evil plan.
One dark day, Aeres and his troops marched on Gaultheria. The ensuing battle was long and bloody. Aeres and his undead creatures wreeked havoc throughout the whole land, shedding blood and destroying everything they could. However, in the end, Aeres was defeated and imprisoned here in the dungeons. If you're careful, you can step closer to his dark cell and hear his now insane ramblings.

"Gaultheria was mine. Before she came here, it was mine. And it shall be mine again! When I am out of here, and I shall escape, I will call back my troops and destroy everything in this land. I'll imprison the witch in her tower room and force her to watch as I slaughter her people. I'll keep her there for the remainder of her life and watch her wither away to nothing under the power of my evil rule!"
