FOUNDER OF THE FNM

Since it's "rebirth2 in late 1983 The Lisbon MC helped with four other MC's in Portugal to found the Portuguese Motorcycle Federation (FPM). Due to it's activities towards the Rider Rights the Lisbon MC has also been distinguished as "FRIEND OF THE FEM*". During the 1986 Bigger Than Euro Bordesr Rally across Europe MC Lisbon was also distinguished as FRIEND OF THE CFM.

EXPO '98
Lisbon is helding this years World Fair, the EXPO '98. Many are expected to visit the fair dedicated to the Oceans. Some of them will come riding their bikes. Lisbon MC will give you details on "What to see", "Where to stay", "How much will it cost" as well as some short advices on Safety and Security issues.
Rallyes and Meetings
From Frebuary until Late October there is almost a Rally or Bikers Meeting on every weekend. At the time of printing the calendar was not yet decided, but you should feel no trouble in finding one of them. This kind of events iw well known for providing cheap accomodation, loads of beer, good music and sometimes good food too. Faro's meeting (14.000 atendees last year), is notabily the famous one, and as usual it's beeing held during last week of July. Highlights
Always wear a helmet. Though in Summer temperatures can rise, it's not advisable riding in shorts, t-shirts, sandals, and other un-protective clothing. Try to always wear gloves. Health care in Portugal may not be as good as in your own country.
