How can I maintain a common style across all my FTM files?

Setting all those options and such every time a file is created can be a tedious and error-prone undertaking. Until FTM provides some sort of feature to accomplish this, I set aside one empty file with all the options set the way I like, as a template. When I want to create a new file, I just copy and rename this template. Then I enter my data into the new file, or import the data from elsewhere.

FTM could easily implement a template mechanism based on this model.
