Family Tree Maker (TM) FAQ 028
My Outline Descendant Report won't fit on the page. I've made the font as small as I can read and FTM still barks at me. Help!

Possible solutions to this problem may be found in two different locations:
  1. Click Format/Tree Format

  2. There are several options on this dialog which control the formatting:
    Indent each generation
Specify the amount of indention in inches. If your report includes many generations, the text for the higher numbered ones is "scrunched" way over to the right. Specify a smaller number for the indention of each generation — or even zero — to relieve this problem.
    Maximum height
This controls the maximum number of lines in the report permitted for each individual. The default is "1". Set this to a higher number to allow wrapping of long lines.
    Always one page wide
Unchecking this allows your report to "span" pages horizontally. Useful for display, but less so for most printers.
  3. Click File/Print Setup

  4. Specifying Landscape aspect will allow more width for each line. Each page will print "sideways" – rotated 90°.
