1 50 gram ball worsted weight cotton in red.
small amount of worsted weight cotton in green.
tapestry needle (for sewing)
hook: Size 4mm
filing for sachet - potpourri

Apple:
Make 2:
Rnd 1:Ch 4. Sl st in first ch to form ring.
Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), work 11 more hdc in ring;
join with sl st to first st. (12 hdc)
Rnd 3:Ch2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in
same st as first st; work 2 hdc in each st
around; ;join with sl st to first st. (24 hdc)
Rnd 4: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in same st as
first st; hdc in next st; *(work 2 hdc in next st, hdc
in next st); repeat from * around; join with sl st to
first st. (36 hdc);
join with sl st to first st.
Rnd 5: ch1. Work sc in first st, work hdc in next 2 sts;
work hdc in next st and 2 hdc in following st. Work sc in
next 10 sts. Work 3 tr in next st.Work sc in next 3 sts.
Work 3 tr in next st. Work sc in next 10 sts.Work 2 hdc in
next st. Work hdc in next st. Work 2 hdc in next st, work
hdc in next 2 sts, work sc in next st. Join with sl st to first
st .Finish off.

Make second part like first part.

Holding wrong sides together attach with sl st in last st
worked in Rnd.5. Sl st in each st around working through sts
in both apple pieces, leaving small opening to insert potpourri.
Place potpourri in between apple pieces and sl st in remaining sts.
Finish off by sl st to first st in round.

Polyester stuffing scented with scented oils can be used in place
of potpourri.

Leaf:
(Make 2)
Rnd 1:Ch 8; work sc in second ch from hook. work hdc in next ch.
Work dc in next 3 sts.Work hdc in next st. Work 3 hdc in last st.
Working on other side of starting chain work hdc in next st, work dc
in next 3 sts, work hdc in last st. Join with sl st to first sc.
Finish off.
Make second leaf like first.

Attach both leaves to apple between sts at top of apple.
