Bravenet Guestbooks allow you to have an email sent to you when someone signs your guestbook. It also has a filter to keep swear/cuss words out of the guestbook, as well as the option to keep images (pictures) out of it. To set up your Bravenet guestbook to send you an email, filter out swear/cuss words and not accept images here is what you do:

Go to the members area.
Go to Guestbook Wizard.
Scroll down to the "E-mail Notification, Swear Checking, & Image Refusal:" area and mark YES to all three.
Press the "Submit and View your guestbook" button and you are done.

If you have a Bravenet Guestbook and someone left an offensive message in it. Here are the steps to take care of it.

Remove the links to the guestbook from your homepage.
Make notes as to the date, time, name, email address (if one is left), homepage URL (if one is left) and the offensive content (for example: nude pictures, sexually explicit words, threats to harm you or your family.)
Do not delete anything at this time!
Go to the members area.
Go to Guestbook Message Delete/Edit Utility.
The IP address is listed on the right hand side, right above the box that contains the message. Make a note of the IP address. DO NOT DELETE!!
Determine what Internet Provider the person who posted used.
Change the password for you Bravenet Guestbook to "smut", "porn", "hate", etc. (write it down so you don't forget it)
Now that you have the name of the Internet Provider, you are ready to send a letter to the abuse department there and Bravenet. By sending to both of them on the same email, they will know that each have been notified. You can use the sample letter to write your own. MAKE SURE you have your parents permission, or have them send the letter. NEVER send your password to your GeoCities Community Leader!!

Once you have received word back from the Internet Provider, you are ready to delete the offensive entry:

Go to the members area.
Go to Guestbook Message Delete/Edit Utility.
Click DELETE and you are done.
Don't forget to change the password so that only you and/or your parents have it.
Now you can link your guestbook from your home page again..
