Military Assistance Delivery Operations - MADOps |
Among the many arch enemies of the PLAoSS (one of General Mahmut's mottos is "either you are a spineless supporter or an arch enemy of mine") is a certain professional military outfit called Military Assistance Delivery Operations, or MADOps, which in the past has repeatedly crossed swords with Soeliland's self-proclaimed military genius.
MADOps is in fact a subsidiary to a large and well-known private military contractor which is usually involved in cooperation with first world governments and employs MADOps for its "grey" operations in third world countries that are rich in natural ressources but poor in military capability. Thus, MADOps forces can be found with companies exploiting natural ressources or with governments of questionable reputation trying to overcome internal security problems. MADOps forces use mostly off-the-shelf equipment available on the market, though this doesn't mean its equipment isn't highly sophisticated. In fact, recent sell-offs of overstocks by a prominent NATO member have allowed MADOps to equip its infantrymen with some of the most up-to-date weaponry currently available.

The scope and overall purpose of MADOps' current operations in Soeliland is unknown, but generally believed to be closely connected to the exploitation of some of Soeliland's varied natural ressources; MADOps operatives have been reportedly seen guarding oil installations and Silphion plants deep inside Soeliland.
Murkwater |
As Soeliland is not without its, well, material attractions, MADOps is not the only private military contractor operating there. Murkwater, a rival company, has been hired by the DRS goverment mainly to provide personal security for the DRS' president; Murwater is also thought to be involved into training the DRS army, though most reports indicate that the overall quality of the troops fielded by the DRS is next to abysmal.
The overall number of Murkwater operatives in Soeliland is believed to be significantly below that of MADOps.
Sandbox Inc. |
Yet another private military contractor operating in Soeliland is Sandbox Inc., which has been hired by the government of the European duchy Markenstein; Markenstein, a tiny yet independent state tied to one of the major European powers both economically and politically has ever since the foundation of the UN participated in most of the UN's missions, if only by sending one or two officers. The UN mission (more of which below) is led by Lt Col von Klink, who, being the highest-ranking officer of Markenstein is widely considered to be the tiny duchy's most valiable military asset.
Sandbox operates teams of operatives to protect Lt Col von Klink; though nominally under the order of the Markenstein government, the Sandbox teams are in fact under the direct command of von Klink who has repeatedly been accused of using them to circumvent the limitations imposed on him by the UN rules of engagement.
