The occasion was to mark her 85th birthday. During dinner a toast was proposed by her eldest son, Douglas, and was replied to by Mrs. Tew in her inimitably bright and witty way. After dinner, Mrs. Tew's guests returned to her home on Edgewood Ave., where she entertained them at bridge. Among the guests were Mrs. John Wainwright of Hamilton, Mrs. Tew's sister, Mr. and Mrs. William Rust-Deye, Mr. and Mrs. Mark McLeod.
