Joyce Constance (Hook) Brent passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the home of her daughter in Chatham at the age of 83. Predeceased by her daughter Arlene Couture in 1996 and survived by her daughter Glenda DeMoor and her partner Allan Chapple of Chatham her daughter Denise Van de Veire and her partner Wayne Shephard of Wallaceburg and her son Stephen and his wife Michele of Oakville. Sadly missed by 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Joyce was born in Sussex, England, moving to Canada at the age of three. Joyce and her family have been residents of Wallaceburg since 1945 and she was a retiree of Libby, McNeil & Libby.
The late Joyce Brent rested at the ERIC F. NICHOLLS FUNERAL HOME, 639 Elgin Street, in Wallaceburg, where a family visitation was held Wednesday, September 29, 2004 and cremation followed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home. Interment of Ashes in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. Donations appreciated to the Canadian Breast Cancer CIBC Run For The Cure, The Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario or the charity of your choice may be left at the funeral home. No flowers please. As a living memorial a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Joyce Constance Brent.
