The Evoys of Ferryland and Calvert (Caplin Bay), Newfoundland.

The Evoy family began at Ferryland in the 1780s with the marriage of Michael Evoy and Elenor ???. Michael Evoy died in 1798 and Elenor married James Walsh in 1799. James and Elenor Walsh left Ferryland and settled at Caplin Bay sometime between 1805 and 1817. It appears that some, or all, of Elenor's children, from her first marriage, also moved to Caplin Bay around that time. Patrick, Elenor's eldest son, married and had at least one child at Caplin Bay. He died in the 1860s, the last male of that surname at Caplin Bay.
